*How has the UAE developed its landscape from past to present?
The United Arab Emirates, a federation of seven emirates
along the eastern coast. Abu Dhabi is the capital emirate and it is
the largest emirate. The UAE has developed a lot since its
inception until the desert was transformed into a green paradise.
The United Arab Emirates has developed the region to make it
suitable for living and be ahead of the rest of the world.
UAE contains many deserts, such as the Empty Quarter Desert and
Al Khatim Desert. Life in the Emirates in the past was all about
pearl diving and simple crafts, not agriculture, because it’s located
in the desert climate. Houses were very small and close to each
other, They were using camels in transportation, because people
didn’t have as much money as they do now. Although the UAE
contains a large percentage of deserts, it is characterized by sand
dunes, oases, and mountains. It’s also bordered by Arabian Gulf
coast.
How the landscape in the UAE changed over time? When we talk
about the development of the UAE, we must talk about Sheikh
Zayed, who transformed the UAE into a green paradise and planted
many trees and plants after scientists said that it is a barren land
and not suitable for cultivation. He insisted not to listen to them
and invest in this land. The UAE was an unremarkable area before
the discovery of oil in 1966. After this year, the UAE has become
a commercial and economic center in front of the world. Dubai has
also become a leader in trade and tourism after the discovery of
oil. Its topography differs from that in the southern portion. As a
large part of the landscape in Dubai is highlighted by sandy desert
patterns. After the development of landscapes in the Emirates with
the presence of mountains, swamps, valleys, and mangroves. The
oases are mostly of date palms, most oases are in the emirate of
Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi turned from the poorest to the richest.
In conclusion, I would like to say that the UAE has changed and
developed with determination and persistence. With time, the UAE
will develop further in all industries and build more skyscrapers like
Burj Khalifa. I think I’m so lucky to live in the UAE because it’s
one of the best countries in the world.
