How About a Tongue Twister Party!?
This is a great literacy activity for a class Halloween party or just for fun
during the week of Halloween. (Turn it into a contest if your kids don’t mind
competing.) Students may need to practice reading the tongue twisters
fluency page before editing and writing the same sentences. They may want
to read with a partner. It is also fun to see how fast (and accurately) they
can read the sentences. Experiment with different voices, tones, and silly
expressions to make this tongue twister activity even more interesting!
Challenge your students to write their own tongue twisters, and/or using the
twister starters in this packet.
The advantage of reading, re-reading, and writing these same twisters
over again, is that your students will become more fluent as they read and
write them. It’s an effective way to build confidence and have©2016
