WHAT IS CHOCECYSTITIS
Cholecystitis (ko-luh-sis-TIE-tis) is inflammation of the gallbladder. Your
gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped organ on the right side of your
abdomen, beneath your liver
SYMPTOMS
Severe pain in your upper right or center abdomen
Nausea
Fever
CAUSES
Gallstones, Tumor, Bile duct blockage

WHAT IS CHOLANGITIS
Cholangitis is an inflammation of the bile duct system
SYMPTOMS
Fever, Chills, Yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)
CAUSES
A tumor, Blood clots, Swollen pancreas
PREVENTION
Quit smoking, stop drinking alcohol and stop using illegal drugs
TREATMENT
If you have cholangitis, you will likely be in the hospital for a few days.
You will be given fluids by IV (intravenous) line through a vein.
You will also have pain medicine and bacteria-fighting medicine (antibiotics)
