Chinese Dishes Cooking Project
(150 points)
Project: You are assigned in a group to work on this project. Your group will be making a real dish of your
choice at home and bring the dish to school on 5/13. You have to videotape the process of your making the
dishes and post it on YouTube or save it in a USB drive/CD to give to the teacher. You will have one class
period to work in lab to research on the recipe and design the vocabulary cards. Please follow the rubrics
closely to get full points.
Lab Work: 40 points
(due in class)
Recipe (3 columns sheet)(20 points): □ Color Printing
1. 1st column-- □ The title of your dish in both Chinese & English; □ Chinese names of your groups
members, 张老师,中文二; □ Picture of the dish;

3. 3rd column: □ The actual procedure of making it in English
Vocabulary Cards (4 vocabularies on each sheet) (20 points)
4. □ Each ingredient on a 4’’ by 6’’ sheet in Chinese characters and Pinyin
5. □ Colored picture of each ingredient on 4’’ by 6’’ sheet
6. □ Paste the picture at the back of its vocabulary
7. □ Put them in an envelope and write your groups names in Chinese
Videotaping: 5-10 minutes 60 points (due on 5/15)
Day of Cooking (40 points)
1. □ Everyone has to be involved in the cooking process (Everyone has to be in the video for about equal
amount of the time.)
2. □ Introduce the ingredient’s Chinese name (hold up each ingredient and the vocabulary card)
3. □ Talk about each step with demo
Uploading and Editing (20 points)
