Juliana Cathreen T. Gomez & Jullean Besañes 11-Kepler RESEARCH PLAN THE MALNUTRITION IN MODERN HOME PETS SPECIFICALLY DOGS A. Rationale: “Let medicine be thy food and let food be thy medicine” — a quote attributed to Hippocrates, considered the father of modern medicine — applies just as much to our pets’ health as it does to ours. While a healthy diet is a powerful tool for protecting health, the appropriate food also can be used to help manage health-related issues. Your veterinarian likely recommends a specific diet for his or her patients with weight problems, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, diarrhea or urinary tract problems such as bladder stones — just to name a few common health issues that can affect our canine companions. (Schell & Kampeter, Inc. d/b/a (2019)) B. Problem: What will happen if what you are going to feed to your dogs are only dog feeds and nothing else? Hypothesis: If you provide your dogs with only dog feeds, then I can hypothesize that it cannot consume that much nutrients compared to the natural foods like vegetables and lean meat. C. Method: In conducting this research, it focuses mostly on how the dogs’ health reacts by the foods that will be given to them. When we collect the data, we simply do the following: Ready the daily chart board for the dog’s development Buy the chosen dog feed that you will provide your dog for this research Measure the vital stats of your dog Everyday feed your dog with the food that you bought, three times a day Make sure that the amount of food that you will give to your should be the same all throughout the research 6. Every morning check the weight of your dog and wrote it down to the daily chart board 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. D.
