Course Description: This course will help students able to understand tourism planning as a process and as a set of techniques for sustainable tourism development giving importance on the physical environment and the social, cultural and political realities of planning and policy making. Students will engage with practical planning tools and strategies, industry, government, field work, and individual and group projects to develop an understanding of tourism policy-making processes, and to gain skills in both evaluation and development of tourism plans and policies. Discussions will also be made on the Philippine Tourism Plan to allow the students an overview of what real plans are like. VII.
