The Rabbi lived with his admirable wife and two sons
Went outside the city for some urgent work
Sons were killed in an accident
Mother suffered in silence
Husband was heart patient and admitted many times in hospital
for cardiac problems
Wife was afraid to tell her husband about the death of their sons
and was afraid that it would probably kill her husband too
On his return he embraced his wife warmly
Asked about his sons
Wife said that he should rest
On lunch wife asked her husband about the details of his journey

•
•
Husband told every miner detail
Asked again about his sons
Wife told that she had a matter to discuss with him
She said, “When you were away a friend of ours visited me
and left two precious jewels now he is coming to get them
back and now I don’t want to give them back to him as I
develop a liking for them , they worth much for us to save”
• He said , “Now I don’t understand you , Vanities never
appealed to you ! . No one loses what he doesn’t own.
Keeping them (jewels) would be stealing . We are going to
return them and I will help you in returning them and we will
do that together , today.”
• She said, “Very well , my dear , as you wish. The
treasure will be returned .In truth , that has
already been done .The precious jewels were our
sons. God trusted us their guard and during your
trip he came to get them . They are gone……”
• The Rabbi embraced his wife , shed many tears
,but he had understood the message . From that
day on they fought to over come the loss.
Main Idea
•
•
•
•
•
No one loses what he doesn’t own
Everything is mortal
Something given to us is not our property
Even our lives are own by Allah
We are just guardians of lives and our property
or money or everything possessed by us
• Allah is the Master and Owner of every thing
which belongs to us
• We should be ready to sacrifice every thing for
Allah Almighty
Application on Society
• Man is mortal
• Death is ultimate reality of life
• We should be patient on every loss whether
materialistic or any loss of life
• If people develop patience in them and take
death as the wish of Allah , they can overcome
the loss in a batter way
Fact
• In fact “Paulo Coelho” had taken this story
from Islamic History
• This is the incident of one of the companions
of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H)
