DOE FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT XX MONTH XXXX TO XX MONTH XXXX ACCOMPLISHMENTS Chief Master Sergeant Linda S. Sparks distinguished herself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Passenger Service Flight, 87th Aerial Port Squadron, 445th Mission Support Group, 445th Airlift Wing, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Chief Sparks provided outstanding mentorship to one of the wing's most diverse units, blending 175 logisticians into a dynamic team. In support of Operations FREEDOM’S SENTINEL and INHERENT RESOLVE, her expert leadership was instrumental in generating 1,520 missions, delivering 17,975 tons of cargo and 8,695 personnel. Additionally, with innovation Chief Sparks’ flawlessly coordinated deployment preparation for 64 Airmen enabling operating capabilities for nine forward operating bases. She collaborated logistics, communication, and resources needed to complete 240 required pre-deployment readiness tasks which resulted in zero manning short falls. Furthermore, Chief Sparks provided exceptional support to the United States Transportation Command’s Denton Humanitarian Assistance Program. She worked closely with the United States Agency for International Development to expedite 800 tons of vital humanitarian supplies providing 40,000 Haitians relief from Hurricane Matthew. Finally, Chief Sparks’ dedicated efforts directly resulted in the 87th Aerial Port Squadron being named the 2018 Air Reserve Component Air Transportation Activity of the Year.
