My dog died last year. I lived in Moca in 1996. We crossed the busy street a few minutes a go. The affirmative Subject + verb + ed TIP The verb will always end in -ed Examples: I screamed. Karla,these are only the regular verbs. There are irregular verbs and they do not change to past like that. You need to establish they are regular verbs. You jumped. She skipped. Irregular verbs in the simple past form Now, after explaining the previous slide, this one makes sense. to go He went to a club last night. Did he go to the cinema last night? He didn't go to bed early last night. to give We gave her a doll for her birthday They didn't give John their new address. Did Barry give you my passport? TIP: when using irregular verbs with“did” or “didn’t” , always use the root of the verb. The negative TIP When you use the negative form of the past simple tense, the verb will not end in –ed.
