Continental Drift: Alfred Wegener Letter Fill-in the Blank

My fellow ___________________,
My name is __________________________________ and I am a
____________________________. I have a theory I call ______________________________
______________ that I would like you to consider for scientific acceptance. This theory says
____________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
_____. I came upon some evidence that you, as ______________________, may find very
interesting. Evidence such as continental __________________________ fitting together like
_____________________ pieces, __________ layers in the same ______________across
several continents and _______________ trails that show warm climate animals whose fossils
were found in very cold climate regions.
Gentlemen, if we look at a map, we will see that the east coast of _____________
___________________ and west coast of __________________ fit together as though they
belonged together at one time. Several other continents, if pieces are moved into place, also fit
together. In your studies as _________________________, I know this has come up in
conversation.
Also, as geologists, I know you have seen the same strata of _________________ on
different continents. The same fossils showing up in the same layers of rock across the vast
ocean on is unheard of. This alone suggests that the continents were together at one time.
Then, and the last thing I will mention at this time, is the fossils that I mentioned earlier
were found outside the ________________________________ they would have lived in. Either
the continents have moved or the Earth has turned on her axis. I propose the continents have
moved and drifted to their current locations.
As you can see, there is substantial __________________________ to prove my Theory
of Continental Drift. The continents were once together and I will call this “all Lands” or
_______________. At this time, I cannot explain the method of movement, only the evidence
that suggests the continents did so. Gentlemen, I implore you to accept my Theory for
consideration. I eagerly await your reply.
In the name of science,
Alfred Wegener
