All electronic devices will be confiscated if they are seen or heard. Consequences (2 – 7) 2. Remain in your seat during instruction, group work and before dismissal. Warning 3. Raise your hand to ask questions or to get out of your seat. Phone Call Home 4. Put needed materials on your desk and put away backpacks and purses. Parent Conference 5. Avoid horseplay and/or contact with one another Referral 6. Dispose of all gum, food, and drink before entering the classroom. (Water in a clear plastic bottle is ok.) 7. Follow Our Social Contract Treat each other with respect. Bullying and discrimination will not be tolerated. Language inappropriate for the classroom will not be tolerated. Classroom Procedures: 1. Make sure all cell phones, iPods, apple or video watches, etc. are turned off and out of sight upon entering the classroom and at all times. No charging of any device permitted. First & Second Electronic Device Infraction - Your device will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day. Third Electronic Infraction - Your device will be confiscated and returned to parent or guardian only. 2. All assignments are due at the beginning of class. Upon entering class place all homework in appropriate bin. To avoid point deductions, turn in all papers on time. Once the bin is closed any papers turned in will be marked late. No late work for a chapter/unit will be accepted after the chapter/unit test is given. To avoid a zero for an assignment, all late work must be turned in the day of the chapter/unit test. Parents Initials:____________ Students Initials:__________________ 3. During silent reading, your desks are to be cleared with the exception of the book you are reading. You are not to be working on homework or work for any other class. 4. During Lecture there should be no interruptions. Do not ask to use the restroom. Please do not speak when others are speaking Raise your hand when you have a question or comment. 5. There are no bathroom breaks the first 10 minutes or the last 10 minutes of class. IB MYP World History Classroom Rules & Procedures 2016-2017 6. During assessments (Test, quizzes, etc) You are expected to study at home before each exam or quiz and bring two #2 pencils. Maintain academic honesty: Cheating will result in a zero. Having any electronic device out during an assessment will result in a zero. Failure to remain quiet and adhere to the rules will result in a zero. Absent students will take the assessment upon their return to avoid a no credit score (NC). If students need more time after an absence, alternative arrangements will need to be made on a case by case basis. Your time limit is 3 days after your return to remove the no credit score (NC). Classroom Dismissal Procedures: 1. 2. 3. Please be sure to pick up any trash on the floor around you before you leave, even if it is not yours. Please stack all books in the proper cabinet before you leave. Remain in your seat until the Bell rings. Do not line up at the door. Participation: 1. Follow the classroom rules and procedures. 2. Arrive on time and maintain an upright and alert posture. 3. Participate in lessons and answer questions during reviews. 4. Contribute to your cooperative group. 5. Remain quiet during assessments until everyone is finished. Edline: Current Grades Edline will be updated every week by Friday evening. Look under the heading “Current Grades”. Students are responsible for keeping all of their work and checking Edline. Please inform me of any comments or concerns regarding your grade. Print your report and highlight your question. Our goals, yours and mine are the same; to prepare you for your future. Do your part. Attend class, complete assignments, turn in all work on time and do your best work.
