Description
The Bosch DECT6000 system is an integrated
communication system, in which paging and cordless
telephony functions are combined.
The system is based on DECT technology, which provides
standard DECT functions like seamless handover,
roaming and encryption. Furthermore the DECT6000
system offers high quality speech communication
(similar to a wired telephone set) and errorless data
transmission, which results in a high degree of reliability
and security.
The paging functionality is based on two-way
communication between the messaging server Alphadesk - and the DECT6000 handsets. The Alphadesk
central control PC is also used in the Bosch DP6000 onsite paging system.

The paging functionality includes the transmission of
messages containing up to 48 characters with message
acknowledgement and handset-to-handset messaging.
The Alphadesk central control PC automatically sends
messages in case of events and can be coupled to all kinds
of external systems, like nurse call systems, fire alarm
systems, building management systems, etc.
The paging functions of the DECT6000 system and the
DP6000 paging system are integrated as if there was only
one system infrastructure. Therefore, it is easy to add the
Bosch DECT6000 system to an existing DP6000 paging
system or vice versa. For a more detailed description of

Minimum System Architecture
DECT6000 Control Unit (DCU) LBB 6721
This unit controls the base stations and is connected to the
analogue extension lines of the PABX.
With the Alphadesk central control PC connected to the
DCU the full potential of paging functions of the
DECT6000 system can be used.
Extension card LBB 6723
This card is placed in the DCU to extend the control-capacity of the DCU from 8 to16 base stations.
Repeater LBB 6734
The repeater extends the coverage area of a base station.
Starter package LBB 6720
Bosch offers a starter package that enables you to set up a
standard DECT6000 system at an attractive price.
A starter package consists of the following components:
1x DCU LBB 6721
4x base station LBB 6730
1x Cable set LBB 6721/01
Do not forget to add suitable ACU’s, charging racks and
an Alphadesk central control PC (+ software) to have a
complete configuration.
Analogue Connection Unit (ACU) LBB 6725 / LBB 6726
The ACU enables you to connect the DCU to the analogue
extension lines of a PABX. The ACU is mounted in
the DCU. Each ACU can handle 8 DECT6000 handsets. A
DCU can hold up to 8 ACU’s. The ACU also provides a galvanic isolation between the DCU and the PABX. The ACU is
available in 2 basic versions, a loop break version and an
earthed version. Besides the basic versions, country specific
versions are available.
Base Station (BS) LBB 6730
The base station controls traffic channels and signals
between DECT handsets and the DCU. The base station is
connected to the DCU through a single twisted pair cable. A
base station can handle 4 speech channels simultaneously.
DECT6000 Handset LBB 6700
The standard DECT6000 handset is a cordless telephone
with extended paging features, which is used in the
DECT6000 System.
The DECT6000 handset is also available in an intrinsic safe
(ATEX) version, for use in potential explosive environments.
Alphadesk DECT6000 basic software package
LBB 6511
The LBB 6511 basic software package runs on the Alphadesk
central control PC.
The DECT6000 basic software package provides configuration and paging features.
Extended System Architecture
Link card package LBB 6722
The link-card package is meant to convert a solo system into
a linked system, which doubles the capacity. The link card
package consists of 2 link cards and a cable and is meant to
connect two DECT6000 Control Units to each other.
Features
The DECT6000 system has different features that can be
divided in two main categories; telephony functions and
paging functions. The main features of each group are
described in the following text.
Telephony features
• The DECT6000 handsets are able to make internal and
external telephone calls.
• All analogue functions of the PABX are available to the
DECT6000 handsets, e.g. follow-me, automatic call-back,
call transfer, call forwarding.
• The handsets have the possibility to transfer a call to any
extension number that is linked to the PABX.
• The handsets have access to two telephone books: a
personal phonebook and a system phonebook. The
personal phonebook is stored in the handset and can
contain 50 names and numbers. The system phone book
is the list, stored in the DCU, of all handsets subscribed
to the system.
Paging functions
• The DECT6000 system can send messages with
(alpha)numeric characters to (a group of) DECT6000
handsets.
• All paging messages are generated by, or passed through,
the Alphadesk central control PC. The types of messages
that can be send are:
Normal
Paging messages with normal priority and
bleep pattern.
Urgent
Paging messages with higher priority. The
DECT6000 handset will bleep until the message is acknowledged.
Emergency Paging messages with the highest priority. The
DECT6000 handset will bleep until the message is acknowledged.
Mailbox
Special paging message for telemetry purpose.

The DECT6000 handsets are able to receive paging
messages during a conversation.
The Alphadesk central control PC receives a technical
and/or manual acknowledgement of all messages
from the DECT6000 handsets. A negative call result
can start a rerouting possibility to (an)other
DECT6000 handsets.
The DECT6000 system supports group calls to
DECT6000 handsets. Up to 100 groups can be
programmed in the DECT6000 system, each
containing up to 50 addresses.
When a paging message contains a phone number, the
extension number is dialed automatically when the
user presses the off-hook button (so called call back
number).
The system is able to have handset to handset
messaging. This means that a paging message received
by a DECT6000 handset can be forwarded to another
DECT6000 handset.
Solo system DECT6000 standard
DECT6000 and DP6000
The paging functions of the DECT6000 system and the
Bosch DP6000 on-site paging system operate as one
system. An existing DP6000 system can easily implement
the DECT6000 system having:
• Paging group calls containing both DECT6000
handsets and DP6000 pagers/transceivers.
• Rerouting of paging messages on absence to either
DECT6000 handsets or DP6000 pagers/transceivers.
• DECT6000 handsets are able to forward received
messages to either DECT6000 handsets or DP6000
pagers/transceivers.
These functions are realized by using the same Alphadesk
central control PC.
