General description
Our AC model single phase disconnecting switch is a
MV product designed to obtain the best outstanding
performance under the worst load and short circuit
conditions fulfilling all the requirements established
by the present distribution networks and according
to the IEC standards.
The hooks are included for the correct handling with
regular phase or with the load buster tool. Besides,
the AC model has copper blades and high pressure,
auto-cleaning lineal type contacts.
On the standard model, the connection is made with
terminal lugs, but if it's required it can also be
delivered with connectors. Both type of connections
allow connecting either copper and aluminum
conductors.
The locking system is a simple but effective
mechanism to prevent opening from vibrations or
severe short circuits conditions.
This Cut Outs can be requested with anti-theft
polymeric insulators.

AC - Disconnecting switch
General description
Safety blocking System switch
Our AC model can be delivered together with our Safety
Blocking System (*) which allows to fix the blade in the
open position and not allowing any accidental closing. This
means, the only way of closing the switch is with an
intentional decision of the operator and not by any other
unexpected cause.
The switch is operated by a simple rod and it is not necessary
any special handler because the movements needed to
blocking the blades are the same one used in opening and
closing the switch.
It can be provided in all the AC models; with anti-theft
polymeric insulators, from 15 kV to 33 kV.
CLOSED EQUIPMENT
If you decide to add the Safety Blocking System (*) you just
need to add the letter “B” to the selected model.

The horizontal inverted bracket model NAC and the inclined
bracket model IAC are provided as optional.

ACMD - Single phase disconnect switch

General Description
The ACMD single phase by-pass disconnecting switch is a
distribution equipment designed to provide a superior
performance under the most severe load and short-circuit
conditions, in strict compliance with today's distribution
systems requirements and IEC 129 standard.
It has copper parallel blades and high pressure self cleaning
lineal contacts. It includes hooks to be used with a standard
rod or a loadbuster tool.
The regular equipment is connected with compression
terminals. However this equipment can be delivered with
extra-heavy duty connectors up to 240 mm2 or with extra
heavy duty with two bolt terminals up to 240 mm2 if it is
requested.
Both the compression terminals and the connectors accept
either copper or aluminum conductors.
The safety latch is a simple but effective mechanism that
prevents opening due to vibrations, even under severe shortcircuit conditions.
This disconnecting switch has porcelain insulators or
polymeric insulators for anti vandalism if requested, which
offers enhanced resistance to breakage and lighter weight
(25% less approx.)

ACB - Single-phase by-pass switch
General description
The ACB model Unipolar by-pass Section Switch allows reconnectors and sectionalizers maintenance without
removing the MV distribution systems from service.
They are manufactured for 600 amperes electric nominal
current and 15, 27, and 33 KV covering tension.
They are available in gray sky color porcelain insulators or
in vandalism-proof insulators.
Blades are parallel and made of copper, and the contacts
are of lineal type, high pressure, and auto cleaning
contacts. In the basic kit, the connection is made with
compressed terminals. In case of requiring a model with
connector, the connection will be made with its extra heavy
duty work connectors, suitable for aluminum/copper
conductors up to 240 mm2 section (500 MCM).
The hooking safety is a simple but a very effective
mechanism that prevents openings from vibrations or from
short circuits severe conditions.
They are provided with brackets for crossarms installation,
NAC model (standard) inverted horizontal, model IAC (2
uds.) sloped support can be required as optional.

ART - Three-phase switch with horntype arc contacts
General description
The ART is a switch designed to operate under load and
for a long service life outdoors. It is designed to be
mounted in horizontal or vertical position on 15kV,
27kV, and 36 kV overhead distribution networks and it
has an extremely compact and lightweight design.
When the switch opens, the horns are spread farther
apart, lengthening the arc until it breaks and this
happens when the A.C. is going threw its cero value.
Since the horns are specially made to withstand the
effort of an arc, the switch life is greatly lengthened. The
horns also keep the arc on a specific path, reducing the
chances of a fire breakout.
This model is designed for a rated current value of
400Amps under the most extreme weather conditions.
The insulators are of sky grey porcelain and the rack is
manufactured in hot dip galvanized reinforced steel,
and the same happens with the 9 meters rod and the
operating lever which are both included.It allows a three
phase under load operation with either active load
(100A with 0.7 cos phi) or inductive load (10A of
vacuum transformer).
Both opening and closure mechanism are made by an
operating lever which can be installed at the desire
altitude leaving a considerable distance between the
operator and the equipment. No additional component
or special tools are required. The equipment operation
may be blocked by means of a padlock or a similar
accessory preventing every risk of unsafe operations by
the operator or any stranger to the Utility Company. If it
is desired, an extra insulator between the control rods
(already included) can be supplied in order to enhance
the operator's protection.
The three phase operation prevents the formation of
ferro-resonant circuits on the three phase networks
sections. Although opening depends on the operator,
the efficiency and usefulness of the system makes this
equipment highly effective because it's flexible horns
provide a perfect response for arc breaking.
ART 15-400
The equipment requires almost no maintenance. Its
construction and type test (including the breaking
capacity) comply with the IEC265 standard.

BS - Distribution fuse cut out

General description
It has a vitrified porcelain insulating support. Grey
sky color. The fixed upper head support is of iron
steel flat and the connection plate is of silverplated copper with stainless steel back.
The fuse-tube is fiber-lined epoxy fiber glass,
covered inside with gasifiable material to allow the
arc extinction. The tube headers are made of
bronze.
The fuse-tube may be replaced by a rigid blade
(silver-plated in the contact areas) up to 300
amperes.
The connecting connectors are made of tin-plated
bronze, suitable for direct connection of 10/120
mm2 (7/250 AWG) section aluminum or copper
conductors.
The kit is provided with driving hooks to be
operated with a loadbuster tool and eyelets for
operation and pole mounting.
Normalized galvanized steel support for crossarm
is available. According to ANSI C 37.41 Standard.

BST - Transient fuse cut-out
General description
BST Cut-outs are suitable for effecting “transient”
protected branch lines via components with the same
performance as in a permanent installation.
BST cutouts are only available with EPDM anti-vandal
insulators.
To have the installation easier the upper line connection
connector is of the type “live line connector” and is
constructed of tinned bronze, suitable for rod mounting
for connection of 10/120 mm2 (7/250 awg/mcm) copper
or aluminium conductors.
It is furnished with a bronze lower terminal for the
installation of branch lines conductors operated by rod
(not included).
The fixed upper head is made of steel plate and the
connection plate of silver-plated copper with a stainless
steel spring.
The fuseholder tube is manufactured from epoxy resin
with fibreglass, and it is lined with gasifiable material to
permit arc extinction. The tube heads are made of
bronze.
The fuseholder tube can be replaced by a rigid blade up
to 300 A.
The unit is fitted with hooks to be used with a loadbuster
tool, and with rings to be used for operating and
mounting the rod-operated fuseholder tube.
All ferrous components are hot dip galvanised, in
accordance with IRAM 60.712 standard.

Fuse wires for HEF fuse links are under ANSI C 37.41
Y 37.42 standards. They are available in K curve;
with fixed or movable head, fusible sheet in pure
silver that prevents oxidation and a reduction of
atmospheric gases, 3 tons compacted helicoidal
connection, auxiliary tube in special vulcanized fiber,
a flexible conductor treated with hot-dip tinning bath
which guarantees a longer lasting in regions with
relative high humidity.

ABT - LV unipolar fuse switch
General Description
The ABT fuse switch is a compact kit to use outdoors and
of efficient output. It allows an easy electric drive by
means of a simple pole applied over the blades pull ring,
even during the most severe load conditions.
The ABT fuse switch is built-up of an insulating body,
square fuse-holders for Lira type fuses, a set of blades in
high conductivity copper and special conic elastic
washers that guarantees high contacts pressure.
The ABT fuse switches can be directly installed to an
existing crossarm or by using two different kind of
supports.
“NT” Model: to be fixed to wooden crossarms including
a set of steel flats, stud bolts and the necessary bolts.
“ST” Model: to be fixed to iron or concrete crossarms
built-up with a welded and galvanized element, and the
bolts, to be fixed to the switch body.
ABT 400 C
It is tested according to the international standards and
it counts with the guarantee of years of use in Local and
Foreign Distribution Companies.

APR 160 - Single phase switch for NH type fuses uo to 160A

General Description
The APR160 fuse switch it is used either as an operation or protection
device for LV lines. It is designed to be used with NH 00 size fuses
offering a maximum of 160 Amps of line protection without blades.
In case blades are used, the maximum switching load would be 250 A.
It is manufactured in reinforced fiberglass polyamide and fulfills all
the necessary requirements for outdoor installation and operation.
In the APR 160C model the connection is made with connectors
suitable for aluminum and copper conductors with a section range
between 16 and 95 mm2 (5-4/0 AWG).
The APR 160 model can also be connected with terminals lugs and
both models can be installed with single phase or three phase
opening.
They have special sockets to obtain a compact set.
The switch is operated from the ground with an operating rod and also
has an indicator to show if the fuse is placed. It can be sealed with
security ties.
It also has a led to show the fusion of the fuse

General description
The APR630 fuse switch it is used either as an operation or
protection device for LV lines. It is designed to be used with NH
1-2 or 3 size fuses offering a maximum of 630 Amps of line
protection without blades.
In case blades are used, the maximum switching load would be
800 Amps
It is manufactured in reinforced fiberglass polyamide and
fulfills all the necessary requirements for outdoor installation
and operation.
In the APR 160C model the connection is made with connectors
suitable for aluminum and copper conductors with a section
range between 16 and 95 mm2 (5-4/0 AWG).
The closure of the cap allows the switch to be closed with or
without a fuse, preventing the risk of leaving tension parts
exposed. It may also be provided with a light emission diode
(LED).

APR630-3 - Four phase switch for NH fuses up to 630A, with three phase operation
General description
This model is suitable for switching and protecting LV
overhead lines, and/or to include a protection when
doing a connection to low voltage underground
systems. The design of this equipment allows the
opening and closing of the three phases simultaneously
and independently from the neutral, which is clearly
identified to prevent its disconnection in rigidly landed
systems. If required, it can be easily transformed in a
single phase operation switch as the standard model
APR 630.
It can be connected with terminals lugs (APR630-3) or
directly with its connectors (APR630-3C).
Each phase and the neutral have an indicator which
show if the fuse or the blade are installed. The closure of
the cap allows the switch to be closed with or without
the fuse preventing the risk of leaving live parts
exposed.
It can also be provided with a led to show the fusion of
the fuses

PAT - Grounding device for APR switch

General description
The PAT grounding device makes for effective and safe threephase grounding of any type of APR grownding device on lowvoltage distribution lines.
With these devices in place, momentary maintenance can be
conducted on low-voltage lines.
Prior to their installation, the correct mounting of the APR
grownding device must be checked by verifying with a voltage
indicator that the current is on the opposite side of the terminal to
be earthed.
This grounding mechanism is used with protection or operation
APR switch, both at the output of transformers or on line bypasses. The lower housings and fuses are removed and replaced
by the lower housings with blades included in the grounding
devices. The upper housings and blades are installed and closed
and the grounding completed with a simple procedure, using a
standard rod.
Packaging
It is available in a plastic box. The unit includes a grounding rod
but not the voltage indicator, which may be furnished at an
additional cost.

General description
These connectors are suitable to connect different
sizes of cables, between 1,5sqmm and 70sqmm.
Manufactured with tin plated copper and including our
conductive compound “alconex” which is a corrosion
inhibitor, to guarantee a perfect connection.
It is suitable for both types of connections,
aluminum-aluminum, aluminum-copper or coppercopper, and because of the elastic materials and
design, achieves an excellent pressure between the
connector and cables.

General description
Our Insulated Piercing Connectors are totally water-proof with avant-guard design
for all weather applications. This product is ideal to tap-off ABC lines or concentric
cables. They can connect both aluminum and copper conductors assuring an
excellent performance and reliability.
They are manufactured in different sizes in order to cover all the ABC sections from
our small model which is suitable for small cable sections such as cable lighting, up
to our biggest model which is designed to connect line to line phases.
All the DCNL models include a shear head bolt which guarantees a proper, effective
and easy connection. Besides, all models have a silicone grease that improves the
sealing quality and all the plastic materials are UV resistant in order to resist the
most severe conditions.

DCNL - Insulated piercing connectors
Use and selection

The insulated piercing connectors are designed and manufactured to connect insulated and/or bare main
conductors to insulated service conductors in LV distribution networks. In order to make these branchings, it is
necessary to select the adequate connector, both with regard to cost and electric performance, that best suits the
conductors to be connected.
As connectors require specific section combinations, a two-entry table (indexed by main and branch conductors) is
provided below, so that users may select the adequate connector for a given utilisation or combination of conductor
sections.
Approximate equivalents between conductors in AWG and mm2 have been included, and connectors contemplate
the differences in diameter of compacted and non-compacted conductors.
Connectors marked in red (DCNL1D and DCNL4D) are only suited for bare main conductors and insulated branch
conductors with insulated connection.

General description
The DCNL-1D and the DCNL-4D are design to make
connections between main bare conductors to insulated
cables. These kinds of connectors were developed to unify
the mounting system independently of the main line
installed.
These connectors have the same shear head bolt as all the
DCNL line which guarantees an effective connection to the
main conductor. This type of insulated connection, allows
the connection of either aluminum or copper conductors.
The standard model comes with tin plated aluminum teeth
but if it is required, they can be manufacture with tin-plated
copper teeth
Standar and test
The piercing connectors stores are under IRAM 2435, ANSI
C 119, ASTMG 26, ASTM B 117, NIME 1001, NIME 1002,
NIME 4101, NFC 33020 standards.

General Description
The DPA fast connectors have been designed to rapidly
connect consumers to the low voltage overhead
distribution system, with branching ranging between 4
and 16 mm2 (AWG 12 to 5). The system is adjusted by
means of a stainless steel contact spring, and its tinplated copper flat contacts ensure a safe and lasting
connection. The unit is suited for use in all kinds of
services to consumers, and is fitted with an IFC
connection component. Apart from working as a
connecting device, it can be used as a cutout device. In
this case, the IFC component (connection) is replaced
by the IFF component (insulation) so that the current
cutout can be effected at a point of easy access to the
Electricity Distribution Company and of difficult access
to the consumer. The unit includes a strapping ring to
prevent or detect tampering.

the tin-plated cooper links, you can obtain another point
to cut the service or another point of protection at the
beginning of the service line of each consumer, which is
a hot point for electrical theft.
Ensure correct operation by using only NEOZED fuses,
low-leakage IFN models, manufactured under IEC, VDE
and UNE standards.

DCC - Shunt for concentric conductor
General description
Our models DCC and DCCR are shunts for concentric
conductors. Which offer a practical and simple solution
from keeping these type of conductors sealed. They
were designed as intermediate accessories, to allow
separating the concentric cables into their phases and
neutral conductors inside the shunt keeping the
deviation protected and insulated. They must be
installed together with Cavanna's insulated piercing
connectors models DCNLs in order to make the electric
connection.

KC - Connection Kit

General description
The connection Kits includes connectors (DCNL),
concentric cable shunts (DCC), plastic straps (PP),
fuse holders (DPA) and fuses.
There are several models so they can adapt to the
different type of lines and materials used by each
electrical utility.
These Kits were developed to simplify stocks.
When carrying out the connection from aerial bundled
cables with concentric conductors or ABC service
lines, as all the accessories included in the kits are
necessary to make one proper connection, with a
single box, it improves the control and storage
management.

KC-A - ABC Lines connection kit
General description
The ABC connection kit for distribution systems our
KC model (includes connectors, shunts for single
phase, two phase or three phase concentric wires,
straps, fuse holders and fuses) ABC lines with 4 or 6
mm2 concentric conductor sections (12 to 9 AWG).
These Kits simplifies when carrying out the
connection from aerial bundled cables to concentric
conductors because every necessary accessory that is
needed to make one connection is included in only
one single bag improving the purchase, control and
storage management.

CPBA/DPB - Insulated terminal lugs and joints for LV overhead connections

General description
The bimetallic terminal lugs are manufactured with tinned
plated aluminum, covered inside with inhibitor neutral grease
to achieve the insulation of the connection. It can connect
both types of materials: aluminum or copper cables.
The insulated joints are made of aluminum, with similar
constructive characteristics as the terminal lugs.
The number and the order of the hexagonal compressions are
described in its insulating compression-resistant cover.
Both terminal lugs and joints stated in the Chart of Models
generally accept the indicated conductors sections (both in
mm2 and AWG) except those marked with *, which only
accept compacted conductors.
We recommend verifying the conductor sections that are going
to be used regarding the inner diameter stated in the table.
The JMH hydraulic compression tool model is recommended in
order to obtain a perfect compression.

Our dead end clamp model DR1000 (ref. NF PA1000) is
suitable for ABC low voltage conductors and MV systems.
It can resist up to 1000 kg of service load. It allows
neutral messengers sections between 25 and 35 mm2
(diameters between 8,5 to 10,5 mm) and fulfill the

DSP - Suspensión Clamps

General description
Our suspension clamps model DSP are design to allow a 30
degrees displacement from one side to the other from the
vertical plane and with a adjustable device for the neutral
messenger between 50 and 70 mm2 cable sections for model
DSP500 and between 25 and 120 mm2 cable sections for the
model DSP1500, supporting loads of 1500 daN (DSP1500).
Both models are provided with a mechanical link which provides
a breaking load of 500 daN on the DSP500 and 1000 on the
DSP1500.
In case of not requiring the mechanical link, please add the
letter “S” to the model. (Example: DSP1500S)

KS - Suspension kit
General description
The Suspension Kits includes suspension clamps,
suspension brackets, plastic ties straps and the
necessary bolts for its installation if needed. These
Kits simplifies the handling while installing it because
you will find all you need in only one package, which
also improves the purchasing and storage
management.
It can be used either with stainless steel bands or
bolts, that together with the aluminum brackets not
only generate a high resistant system against
corrosion and saline environment, but it also is very
safe and practical because its installation is
independent from the type of post, its perforation and
it does not need any additional accessories.
The Suspension Kits are delivered in different models
depending on the type of suspension and the place
they are going to be installed, and all of them include
the necessary components ready for installation.
Usually, these Kits include our aluminum brackets
model DMS, DMSB or DMSF but if required, these kits
can be delivered with galvanized iron brackets.

General description
The service anchoring clamp can be used either in Aerial Bundled
Cables and concentric conductors. It can resist more than 200 kgs of
service load. Its auto-adjusting design allows anchoring a conductor
bundle up to 22 mm diameter. This design was conceived to give the
network an easy mounting system, versatility in ranges and
conductors.
The DCR service anchoring clamp can carry out any service line, or
public lighting, in distribution systems with single phase, concentric,
or up to three phase's conductors and ABC lines.

DPS - Insulated wall supports for cables fixed on facade
General description
The DPS model is excellent for carrying aerial bundled
cables or concentric cables over walls. They include a
supporting plug manufactured in an isolating material
foreseeing plug expansion due to the steel spike.
There are two models suitable either for 25 and 50
mm conductors bundled diameter which are fixed
with plastic tie straps.

Installation
Distribution insulated cleats are supposed to be
installed approximately between 40/50 cm and those
for branch anchoring cleats between 25/40 cm
Technical characteristics
They are under the international rules requirements for
this kind of material.
Packaging
They are delivered in corrugated cardboard boxes
suitable for carriage and storing in warehouses.

DSF - Low voltage phase separator

General description
The DSF low voltage phase separator
model provides the necessary
electrical distance between phases in
bare conductors or with inefficient
protection or deteriorated cover.
They were specially designed either
for horizontal and vertical lines. The
raw material used in the
manufacturing of this part has UV
resistant polyethylene of high
mechanical strength. The several
deflectors' keeps the dielectric
distance required between
conductors even under high humidity
or wet conditions.
Its mounting system to conductors by
means of snap toothed clamps
guarantees an easy, simple and safe
mounting.

This model is designed for stretching the ABC lines.
It is manufactured steel with a coating of hot dip
galvanized zinc. It has a closed eyelet and shackles in

They are designed to fix cables and other accessories.
They are manufactured in different lengths 150, 250
and 350 mm and they are prepared to resist severe

insulated cable ends. There are different sizes
