2.2 RECEPTACLES
A. Duplex Receptacles: Feed-through type, straight blade, specification grade.
1.
Guestrooms: NEMA 5-15R, "decorator" style, almond in color with matching almond
screwless snap-on cover plate.
2.
Non-guestroom applications: NEMA 5-20R. "decorator" style, with screwless snap-on
cover plate. Color shall be almond except where noted on plans. Coordinate with
surrounding finishes.
B. GFCI Receptacles: Feed-through type, with integral NEMA WD 6, feed-through type, straight
blade, specification grade duplex receptacle arranged to protect connected downstream
receptacles on same circuit. Design units for installation in a 2-3/4-inch- deep outlet box
without an adapter.

Guestrooms: NEMA 5-15R, almond in color with matching almond cover plate.
2.
Non-guestroom applications: NEMA 5-20R. Color shall be almond except where noted
on plans. Coordinate with surrounding finishes.
C. Isolated-Ground Receptacles: Equipment grounding contacts connected only to the green
grounding screw terminal of the device with inherent electrical isolation from mounting strap.
1.
Devices: Listed and labeled as isolated-ground receptacles.
2.
Isolation Method: Integral to receptacle construction and not dependent on
removable parts.
3. "Decorator" style, orange in color with matching orange cover plate.
2,3 PENDANT CORD/CONNECTOR DEVICES
A. Description: Matching, locking type, plug and receptacle body connector, NEMA WD 6,
Configurations L5-20P and L5-20R, Heavy-Duty grade.

Body: Nylon with screw-open cable-gripping jaws and provision for attaching
external cable grip.
2.
External Cable Grip: Woven wire-mesh type made of high-strength galvanized-steel wire
strand, matched to cable diameter, and with attachment provision designed for
corresponding connector.
2.4 CORD AND PLUG SETS
A. Description: Match voltage and current ratings and number of conductors to requirements of
equipment being connected.
1, Cord: Rubber-insulated, stranded-copper conductors, with type SOW-A jacket. Greeninsulated grounding conductor, and equipment-rating ampacity plus a minimum of 30
percent.
2. Plug: Nylon body and integral cable-clamping jaws. Match cord and receptacle type for
connection.
B. Dimmer Switches: Modular, full-wave, solid-state units with integral, quiet on/off switches and audible
and electromagnetic noise filters.

2. Incandescent Lamp Dimmers: Modular, 120 V, 60 Hz with continuously adjustable slide; single
pole with soft tap or other quiet switch; electromagnetic filter to eliminate noise, RF, and TV
interference; and 5-inch wire connecting leads.
2.6 W ALL PLATES
A. Single and combination types match corresponding wiring devices.
1. Plate-Securing Screws: Metal with head color to match plate finish.
2. Provide plates for all devices and outlets with opening configuration suitable for
devices to be covered. Color of plastic plates shall match device. Refer to Interior
Finish Index for color.
3. Plates shall be smooth urea plastic secured in place with screws finished to match
the plates. Back of the house areas, such as equipment spaces, shall have steel
plates. Stainless steel plates shall be used in kitchens. Weatherproof plates shall be used
where exposed to the weather or in pool area.
2.7 FLOOR SERVICE FITTINGS
A.
Type: Modular, flush-type, dual-service units suitable for wiring method used.
B.
Compartmentation: Barrier separates power and signal compartments.
C.
D.
Housing Material: Die-cast aluminum, satin finished.
Power Receptacle: NEMA WD 6, Configuration 5-20R, gray finish, unless otherwise
indicated.
E. Signal Outlet: Blank cover with bushed cable opening, unless otherwise indicated. 2.8
FINISHES
A. Color: Refer to architectural drawings and specifications for all finish colors.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 IDENTIFICATION
A. Comply with Section 16075 "Electrical Identification."

Switches: Where three or more switches are ganged, and elsewhere as indicated,
identify each switch with approved legend engraved on wall plate.
Receptacles: Identify panelboard and circuit number from which served. Use machineprinted, pressure-sensitive, abrasion-resistant label tape on face of plate and durable
wire markers or tags within outlet boxes.
3.2 CONNECTIONS
A. Connect wiring device grounding terminal to branch-circuit equipment grounding conductor.
B. Isolated-Ground Receptacles: Connect to isolated-ground conductor routed to designated
isolated equipment ground terminal of electrical system.

Tighten electrical connectors and terminals according to manufacturers published torquetightening values, If manufacturers torque values are not indicated, use those specified in UL
486A and UL 4868.
3.3 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A, Test wiring devices for proper polarity and ground continuity. Operate each device at least six
times.

Check TVSS receptacle indicating lights for normal indication.
Test GFCI operation with both local and remote fault simulations according to manufacturer's
written instructions.
D. Replace damaged or defective components.
3.4 CLEANING
A. Internally clean devices, device outlet boxes, and enclosures. Replace stained or improperly
painted wall plates or devices.
