MOUNTING CODE SURFACE
SNB - (OVER 4-0 BOX)
SDE - (DIRECT ENTRY)
SSB - (WITH SPLICE BOX)
Installation should be performed by a qualified
electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code
and relevant local codes.
INSTALLATION DIAGRAM
Integral knockouts (2) are provided
for independant mounting of
housing. Knockouts accept 1/4”
anchor bolts (bolts by others).
For surface direct entry (code 2)
Hydrel provides two 1/2” NPT
openings for conduit
connection.
For surfacemounting over 40 box (code 1) remove cast
knockouts provided in
housings, mount fixture over
box, and connect supply
wires.
For surfaces with splic
box (code 3) openings
are 3/4”,NPT - three
places
INSTALLATION DIAGRAM
RECESSED
For recessed direct entry
(code 4) connect 1/2”
conduit to housing and
pour concrete. Wireway
cover in housing provides
splice compartment.

Recessed units with splice
box (code 5) are provided
with three 3/4” NPT
openings.

bracket affixes to mounting bracket with
four 1/4-20 set screws.
PENDANT
Mounting bracket provided is affixed
over flush 4-0 ox (box by others) by 5/16”
bolts (bolts by others).

PLASTER FRAME
PFD - (DIRECT ENTRY)
To mount plaster frame
properly, orient as shown.
PFS - (WITH SPLICE BOX)
Attach fixture to frame as shown using
knockouts provided for hole location (2)
Affix 4-0 box to back of fixture.
(code 13) (box by others)
Two 1/2" NPT openings are
provided for direct entry into
fixture (code 12)
Studs
Drywall
Stud around plaster
frame as shown. Affix
frame to studs through
14 dia. holes provided.
Housing fits into frame as
shown. Align frame screws
with cast in knockouts.
Reflector affixes to
housing by two 10-24
screws.
Direction of light
distribution
For asymmetrical distributions (HP3G & HP3H)
plaster frame orientation is key. Orient frame as
shown to aim distribution as desired.
