SEC/HR/DOC/001 JOB DESCRIPTION ROLE : Financial Controller PURPOSE : Ensure Efficient Management of Finance, Equipment and Resource Administration. PLACE OF DUTY : Securex Head Office CONTRACT TERMS : Permanent RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Prepare consolidated company budget requirements and budget plan. Prepare and manage Company Cash flow. Identify external sources of financing, if required. Prepare finance targets and finance plan and get them approved. Ensure achievement of Revenue Collection targets and review progress in the Credit Control section. 6. Timely Release approved salary payments and final dues to employees. 7. Ensure timely billing of all service/product delivery to customers and effective dispatch of invoices and statements. 8. Authorize all Credit Notes and General Journal Entries raised in the accounts dept. 9. Ensure overall maintenance of the Credit Policy terms and conditions by Customers. 10. Manage Supplier Credit days and ensure all Creditor payments are done as agreed. 11. Ensure timely generation of management accounts and reports. 12. Authorize Petty Cash Expenditure requisitioned by Heads of Department. 13. Authorize all Journal Entries with signatures, check the narrations of all Journal Entries passed, all entries should be serialized and Printouts taken be for updating. 14. Monitor and address all Inter Company, branch transactions of Securex and Cyber trace. 15. Handlings of Directors’/Shareholders Accounts and Statutory payments/returns. 16. Communication with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) or any other statutory bodies on behalf of the Company. 17. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all accounting entries, for timely submission of statutory returns and final accounts to External Auditors and bodies. 18. Ensure Reconciliation of any variances in cash book and bank statement. 19. Maintain correspondence and communication with all Bank and financial bodies / authorities. 20. Timely preparation of all finance reports and analysis for management as per the list of Reports. 21. Ensure all External and internal E-mails received in the Department are responded to and addressed within 24hours. 22. Address all Disciplinary issues, punctuality and smartness of all personnel in the department in liaison with the Human Resource Manager. 23. Address any misuse of Company resources (vehicles, motor bikes tools and equipment, computers, etc) and ensure optimum utilization of resources, being cost sensitive and reduction of wastage in the department. 24. Prepare the KPI reports for personnel in the department. 25. Adherences to systems, processes and policies of Securex. QUALIFICATION 1. 5 Years and above managerial experience in Accounting at a busy and reputable firm 2. University Degree in Accounting/Finance 3. Individuals with CPA (K)/ACCA certification in addition to the above degree will have an added advantage 4. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills 5. Must be assertive, persistent and have a positive outlook 6.
