We will meet in front of the Red Gym at 8:45am and head to the International Crane Foundation for a tour. Following the tour, we will spend the afternoon at Devil’s Lake State Park. The Casino Royale Prom was a wonderful night for BRIDGE members. Students shared partner experiences and fun stories over dinner and ice cream. Following dinner, students danced to a mix of music from different cultures. Walt and Laura were bestowed with the honor of Prom King and Prom Queen. Everyone danced the night away and had a night to remember. Scavenger Hunt and Bonfire Save the Date! End-of-semester Banquet Thursday, May 7th Members from BRIDGE began the fun afternoon with an extensive scavenger hunt that took them all over downtown Madison. The hunt ended at Dejope Residence Hall where a bonfire was ready and roaring. Students enjoyed sharing in the American tradition of making s’mores, and some were surprised to find out that this wasn’t a common practice around the world and that there are a lot of people who don’t like marshmallows! BRIDGE members made a lot of new friends and it was the perfect way end the semester! Mentor-hosted Contra Dance Night Mentor Majorie Matthews took members of her team contra dancing. It was a fun evening full of laughter and new dance moves. BRIDGE Journal Due Date Reminder! Don’t forget that your BRIDGE journal is due today, Monday, April 27th, at midnight! I’m Meina and I’m an exchange student from Japan. I just turned a junior because in Japan the school year starts from April. (fun fact!) I love to play sports, especially field hockey and basketball! I can’t believe there’s only a month left for me here in Madison. I’m sure I’m going to miss the life here especially my friends, school and cheese curds! I’ve been having a great time so far in BRIDGE this semester and am seeking to have even more fun for the rest! BRIDGE is fun because you get to meet so many people from different countries that I’ve never met before, and at the same time you get to meet many American friends. We share our own cultures, talk about our countries, and learn others’ as well. Like its name, BRIDGE has been the bridge to connect people from all over the world and I’m so glad I was able to join this wonderful program. I want to enjoy the rest of the time in Madison and would love to talk to you all! I hope you all enjoyed my team’s event this past weekend! SUSPENSION WIRE contains information specifically for UW-Madison students participating in the BRIDGE International Friendship Program. It is published twice a month throughout the semester.
