CATHOLIC DIOCESES OF THE AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE
Over the past few weeks and over the year, I
have realised that not many people realise that
the Defence force has its own diocese, which I,
Fr Damian Styles are a member. You may
wonder why does the Church have such a Diocese? The Diocese is not all that large in terms
of numbers of people but our people are involved in a vocation which is most important.
Our Chaplains, both full-time and part- time,
serve wherever our people are serving whether
in war or peace, at home in various parts of
Australia or overseas. As the Catholic Diocese
of the ADF, we live in the world and relate to
the world. As a Diocese we uphold the way of
life, traditions and morals of our society and
Church in relation to behaviour, family life,
marriage and social justice. The Diocese is
deeply committed to providing pastoral care to
all members of the Australian Defence Force
and their families wherever they may be.
The Australian Catholic Defence Diocese or
the Catholic Military Ordinariate of Australia is
the Catholic Diocese of the Australian Defence
Force which has been charged with the pastoral
care of the uniformed members of Australia’s
Navy, Army and Air Force, their families and
the civilians employed by the Department of
Defence: “Serving Those who Serve the Nation.”

starting at 11am followed by a
counter lunch at the pub.

treated for white ants will be removed within
the coming months.
BOTTLES OF WATER FOR BLESSING
YOUR HOMES
The box to receive these bottles is on the
ledge at the entrance to the Mass area. Last
year many bottles were returned. You should
all have blessed your homes well and truly by
now. Please return these bottles. Once our
supply runs out, those desirous of receiving
Easter water will have to provide the bottles
themselves, as happens in Mildura. Flags
