About ATMOsphere Europe 2015
ATMOsphere Europe “Natural Refrigerants – Solutions for Europe” returns to
Brussels for its 6th edition, once again gathering key HVAC&R industry stakeholders, to
discuss the latest natural refrigerant technology innovations, market trends and regulatory
issues. One of the major conference topics will be the new EU F-Gas Regulation, including
its practical implementation and clarifications on how the industry should approach certain
requirements and terms. Speakers from the European Commission will highlight what
the new policy means for businesses and end users in terms of investment strategies. They
will also use ATMOsphere Europe as a forum to gather feedback from the
industry about progress on implementation.
Other programme highlights will include a Food Retailer Panel and a Consumer Goods
End User Panel featuring speakers from Carrefour, METRO, Delhaize, Auchan
Super Spain, Modelo Continente Hipermercados, Ahold, Red Bull, The Coca
Cola Company and more.
ATMOsphere Europe 2015 | 16 - 17 March, 2015 | Brussels, Belgium
In addition, several leading companies will be presenting their latest natural
refrigerant products and projects spanning several applications, including commercial,
light commercial, industrial & transport refrigeration, heat pumps and HORECA applications.
ATMOsphere Europe will also serve as the platform for the official launching of the
TripleAqua, a worldwide-patented natural heat pump system using water and propæne,
designed for heating and cooling of medium and large size buildings.

ATMOsphere Europe 2015 – Media Briefing
ATMOsphere Europe 2015 returns to Brussels for its sixth edition! The conference will
take place on 16 & 17 March 2015.
Purpose: ATMOsphere Europe 2015 focuses specifically on the state of the natural
refrigerant industry in Europe, including technology and market trends as well as regulatory
developments. One of the conference’s primary goals is to support and encourage the
faster market uptake of natural refrigerant technologies in Europe, Southern
European counties in particular, by showing that cutting-edge natural refrigerant
solutions exist for various applications; and that these technologies are both an
environmentally and economically viable solution for the HVAC&R industry.
After five editions, ATMOsphere Europe 2015 will serve again as a forum for knowledge,
lessons learnt and best-practice exchanges between industry experts and stakeholders,
ATMOsphere Europe 2015 | 16 - 17 March, 2015 | Brussels, Belgium
ensuring discussions and networking opportunities that will help disseminate information
about natural refrigerant technologies and will spur a faster market uptake of these
sustainable energy saving and long run cost efficient solutions. With its proven and blend
formula of prominent end user companies such as Carrefour, METRO, Delhaize,
Auchan Super Spain, Modelo Continente Supermercados, Ahold, The Coca
Cola Company, Red Bull etc. and component & system suppliers including Carrier,
Mayekawa, Advansor, Epta, SANDEN , Carel, Embraco, DORIN, Danfoss,
Emerson Climate Technologies, SCM Frigo, Blupura, and much more, ATMOsphere
Europe 2015 will seek to spread the message that natural refrigerant solutions are the future
for the HVAC&R market not only in Europe but worldwide.
Context and topicality: 2015 is set to be a landmark year for the usage and promotion of
natural refrigerants. The entry into force of both the new F-Gas Regulation and the
HCFC phase out across the EU at the beginning of 2015 have push forward the
use of natural refrigerants exponentially in Europe.
Within the next decade, a number of new measures restricting the use of HFCs will be phased
in, with HFC bans (such as the R22 ban) in new equipment expected to have the most
immediate effect on the introduction of natural refrigerants.
These measures along with increased business’s concerns about environment & climate
change have fostered the interest in natural refrigerants especially for sectors that will see
introduction of HFC bans. In commercial refrigeration for example, some of the major
system manufacturers expect that Europe will see over 6,000 CO 2 -only stores
annually by 2018, with progressively more being installed in southern Europe as solutions
for warmer climates become increasingly available.
ATMOsphere Europe conferences will aim to booster the use of natural refrigerants in
Europe by bringing together key HVAC&R industry leaders to share ideas, lessons learnt and
best practices.
