ALPU-ALVR
UL 497 Listed - Primary Advanced Lightning Protection
Unit for 55V WiMAX & Power
Over Ethernet Applications
The ALPU-ALVR is purpose built for Alvarion WiMAX and
WiFi Ethernet radios and meets the new UL 497 standards.
ALPU-ALVR is the premier primary and secondary protector
for your high-speed packet network equipment from
lightning and other transients. It is the only Alvarion UL 497
listed protector for primary protection. The ALPU-ALVR
has low capacitance/impedance and insertion loss so that
your packets will reach their destination without disruption
from your surge protection system. The ALPU-ALVR is
configured with three types of surge protection: silicon
diodes for over-voltage, fuses for power line cross, and PTC
(positive temperature coefficient) fuses for sneak current.

MOUNTING HOLES
Thread a multiconductor cable from the data source through the strain relief
adjacent to the marking on the PCB labeled “Input.”
Strip back the cable jacket as needed, then install the conductors into the IDC
connectors labeled “Input” - place the wires into the grooves in the connector,
leaving approximately 1/8” of wire overhanging, and press down firmly with the
punch-down tool until the wires firmly engage into the fork terminals.
Repeat this procedure for the outgoing multiconductor cable, using the
connectors labeled “Output.
EXTERNAL GND LUG
ACCEPTS 4-14 AWG
Tighten the strain reliefs to secure the cables (DO NOT OVER TORQUE!).
