Rev. Dr. Cliff Houston. Pastor Cliff became First Baptist-Rochester’s Interim Minister two plus years ago. Within weeks he knew our congregation by name and effectively assumed the key ministerial role. As interim, he has prepared us for the coming of a new pastor. Through offering extraordinary pastoral care, encouragement, guidance, and genuine love, he has supported our development preparatory projects such as identification of our core values. In addition to his pastoral duties, he has given back to the community by volunteering to make deliveries for the Brighton Food Depot and by leading vespers for the regular Rochester Psychiatric Center Dinners. He has endeared himself to our church family. Marian Morrison First Baptist-Rochester honors Marian Morrison for her committed work in the day-to-day operations and management of the Brighton Food Depot (BFD). Marian is vital and works hard, often “behind the scenes,” to ensure the success of BFD programs. Each month, she oversees the correct amount of food collection for the volunteers to pack bags that are distributed to families through their children at a city school. She shops, bags, organizes, and cleans in the Depot. Marian was key in creating the Depot’s brochure, Hunger Hurts, aimed to encourage others to become involved. Marian is also a ready contributor to various church programs.
