Weigh Your Fish with a Ruler Fish can sometimes be harmed when weighed. To protect your fish take a length measurement. With this chart you can quickly determine the approximate weight of your fish using a ruler or tape measure. If you measure your fish in centimetres use the table on the right. For example a walleye 66 cm in length would weigh approximately 3 kg. If you measure your fish in inches use the conversion chart below. For example a walleye 33 inches in length would be (33 x 2.54 = 83.8 cm) which is roughly 6.44 kg or (6.44 x 2.21) = 14.2 lbs.
