P Electricity Meter LCD MCU This series of single-phase electricity meter LCD microcontrollers simplifies meter design and reduces system component count. It has a dedicated-measurement front end with a 4-channel, 24-bit Delta Sigma ADC plus a powercalculation engine to support precise measurement for 2-wire and 3-wire single-phase electricity meter designs. Moreover, additional powermanagement features such as zero-crossing detection and anti-tampering features reduce system component count. Embedded LCD support and various serial interfaces for connection to any communication subsystem enable flexible and extensible meter designs. 78K0/Lx3-M 8-bit Single-Phase Electricity Meter LCD MCU Key Features > High-performance 8-bit 78K0 flash microcontroller > Dedicated 2-wire or 3-wire single-phase electricity meter analog front end - 4 channels, 24-bit Delta Sigma ADC - Hardware active power, reactive power and apparent power-calculation engines - Power management engines for zero-crossing detection, peak detection and more - Anti-tampering detection - Support for Rogoski coil > Up to 60 KB flash memory and up to 2 KB SRAM > Real-time counter with hardware calibration - Dedicated second, minute, hour, etc. registers to simplify time stamping - Hardware calibration to compensate variance of crystal - Independent voltage support > Multiple 16-bit and 8-bit timers > Multiple channels of 10-bit ADC > Various CSI and UART interfaces Key Benefits > Dedicated single-phase electricity meter analog front end to simplify meter design > Dedicated power-calculation engine to reduce software overhead > Sophisticated real-time counter for accurate time tracking www.am.necel.com Electricity Meter LCD Microcontroller 78K0/Lx3-M 8-bit Single-Phase Electricity Meter LCD MCU Target Applications NEC Electronics America, Inc. 2880 Scott Boulevard Santa Clara, CA 95050-2554 1-408-588-6000 www.am.necel.com > Single-phase electricity meter > Electricity measurement for industrial Development Tools > Comprehensive software development tools NEC Electronics Corporation 1753 Shimonumabe, Nakahara-Ku Kawasaki, Kanagawa 211-8668, Japan 81-44-435-5111 www.necel.com NEC Electronics (Europe) GmbH Arcadiastr. 10, 40472 Dusseldorf, Germany 49-211-6503-0 www.eu.necel.com - Compiler, linker, assembler and debugger > Comprehensive hardware development tools - Low-cost debugger (MINICUBE2) • Flash programming during development • System debugging during development - Stand-alone flash programmer (PG-FP5) • Production flash programming Ordering Information (μPD78Fxxxxyy-zzz-AX) Flash Memory RAM xxxx Body Part Number yy-zzz Package Suffix RoHS Plating NiPdAu GB-GAH 16 KB .75 KB 8052 64-pin (10x10 mm) GB-GAH 32 KB 1 KB 8053 64-pin (10x10 mm) GC-UEU 48 KB 2 KB 8054 100-pin (14x14 mm) GC-UEU 60 KB 2 KB 8055 100-pin (14x14 mm) For device or tools availability and pricing, please contact your NEC Electronics America sales representative.
