SEMINAR SYNOPSIS
Mr. LIM JONG CHIUEH, graduated in 2000 from the University of Nottingham Trent in
Today’s developments in industrial, commercial and residential buildings
have seen tremendous changes in size, operation, complexity and occupancy
compared to a decade ago. Together with the rapid development of
communication and network technologies, the industry has seen the trend of
almost all Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems are getting their product IPbased and TCP/IP compliance. With a full TCP/IP compliance solution, many
other ELV systems can be integrated into a common network platform. With
this integration, building services can be integrated with a more meaningful
application and purpose. It has not only improve the way we communicate in
a building, it has also innovate the way we manage an organization through
the brand new Augmented Communication System (ACS). Public Address
System has always been recognized as one of the most crucial communication
system in a building especially during emergency. The purpose of this course
is to provide an overall understanding of the both the fundamentals and the
latest Network Public Address system trend in most of today’s intelligent
high rise buildings. The second half of the course will stressed how the new
network capability and integration with other ELV systems on a true network
platform, has truly revolutionized the way we communicate within and
without a building and how all the ELV system enhances their functionality
and applications.

Working in the field of audio communications, he has been active in the research and
development of Public Address systems. As of 2001 he has been involved in the designing
and implementation of systems for various projects around the world incorporating Building
Safety Intelligence compliances for meaningful ELV integration. Completing his MBA
majoring in International Marketing, he has been able to take a subjective view in
understanding market trends and identifying systems that suit market needs as well as
complying to the various local code of practices.
MR. NG TECK LIH, graduated in 1994 from University of Nebraska in United States of
America with a degree in Electrical Engineering majoring in Electronics. He completed his
MBA majoring in International Business with University of Southern Queensland, Australia
in 2002. He has been actively involved in the research and development in the field of Audio
Engineering and Digital Audio Signal Management for the past 12 years. He was involved in
designing the latest Building Safety Intelligence (BSI) compliant PA systems for the 2008
Olympic Games stadiums, the biggest Convention Center in China, the biggest hospital
system in Hong Kong, etc. He was been invited to conduct lectures in both local government
departments as well as overseas’ audio engineering institutions. He is currently appointed as
Director for an Australian-based PA system manufacturer to market their products to both

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration fees covers one set of course notes and refreshments and lunch. All fees must be fully
paid before commencement of the course, otherwise participant will not be allowed to enter the
Lecture Hall. Reservation/Booking by fax or email of intending participants are acceptable with
payment being forwarded before the closing date. If a place is reserved and the intended participants
failed to attend the course on the date of the event the fee is to be settled in full.
Completed registration form accompanied by cheque/PO/MO are to be made payable to “The
Institution of Engineers, Malaysia Account” should reach the IEM Secretariat not later than 30
November 2010.
The fee paid is non refundable. However substitution of participants(s) will be permitted with
approval by IEM. In view of the limited places available, intending participants are advised to send
their registration as early as possible so as to avoid disappointment.
The Organising Committee reserves the right to alter or change the programme due to unforeseen
circumstances. Every effort will be made to inform the registered participants of any changes.
