Personal Specification
This role would suit an individual who is both competent and experienced in installing a wide variety of different electrical installations.
The role requires excellent communication skills combined with a solid understanding of installing and designing electrical installations.
The candidate must have the ability to explain design ideas clearly and additionally a comprehensive understanding of the BS7671
wiring regulations. In addition, candidates will have gained the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the inspection and testing
procedures. Site visits to determine and discuss upgrades to equipment and infrastructure are a big part of this role. Long distance,
countrywide travel and overnight stays in hotels are likely in this role.
Job Specification
- To provide professional services to cover Design, Installation and Commission of electrical installations to the required BS7671
wiring regulations standard.
- Must have the ability to issue final inspection and testing of electrical installations completed.
- To prepare relevant NICEIC Test Paperwork on completion of electrical installations for issue to customers and post inspections of
work undertaken by other electricians on the team.
- Maintain a record of the on-going accuracy and consistency of test equipment used for certification and reporting purposes.
- To work alongside and/or supervise the existing Projects & Technical Service Technicians & Engineers, as required when those
persons are assisting with electrical work.
- To have a good understanding of BS 7909 for event power distribution systems and to offer these services, when required, to our
Events department.
- To communicate directly with customers and clients, face to face and over the telephone in a helpful and courteous manner.
- To travel to clients and stay away from home overnight where necessary. Occasional overseas travel may also be required.
- To adhere to the ‘Working Away’ and ‘Expenses’ Policy at all times.
- To keep up to date with equipment changes and working practices, in particular those pertaining to site work, including Health &
Safety requirements.
- A full clean driving licence is preferred and CRB checks will be undertaken.
- The candidate must also hold a valid ECS H&S card for Site work, training can be offered
- IPAF & PASMA would also be a requirement but training can be offered to those, as needed.
- To prepare and in consultation with the Project Manager, the necessary budget costs and design of the specific
electrical installation.
- To liaise with suppliers and wholesalers to ensure best prices are available.
- Provide a Monthly Report for issue to the Special Projects Director.
- Maintain records of working hours by means of a supplied Timesheet.
- Help generate business for the company and promote customer satisfaction, where appropriate to your role.
- To learn about the company and its activities in order to understand and deal with the customers more effectively.
- To represent the Company in a courteous and appropriate manner in any dealings with customers.
- To resolve any issues arising with colleagues in a professional manner.
- To maintain and enhance the quality of the White Light brand at all times.
- To be considered for this Qualified Electrical Supervisor role the candidate must be qualified to City and Guilds 2382 incorporating
17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations, you must also possess the City and Guilds 2391 Electrical Inspection and Testing Certificate.
They must have at least two consecutive years supervisory or managerial responsibility for the standard of electrical installation
work.
