FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES UNIVERSITY OF VARMIA AND MASURIA DEPARTMENT OF PATHOPHYSIOLOGY AND LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS INTERNAL REGULATIONS FOR STUDENTS OF THE ENGLISH DIVISION 1. The internal regulations of the Department Pathophysiology and Laboratory Diagnostics are consistent with the Study Statute of the Faculty of Medical Science University of Varmia and Masuria. 2. Didactic classes are realized consistently with the study schedule confirmed by the Dean of the Medical Faculty. 3. The Pathophysiology course is carried out in the didactic rooms of the University of Varmia and Masuria. 4. Upon entering the lectures and classes student is obligated to change shoes. coats, jackets etc. should be left in the cloak-room. 5. During the lectures and classes mobile phones, pagers and any audio devices must be absolutely switched off. 6. During the lectures and classes taking photographs is forbidden. 7. In the didactic rooms student is allowed to be only in the presence of an assistant. 8. During the classes it is forbidden to leave the didactic rooms without permission of an assistant. 9. It is prohibited to smoke, eat and drink in the didactic rooms and corridors. 10. Student is obliged to take care of didactic equipment. 11. Student is obliged to obey the work safety and fire control regulations. During the first exercise student will be acquainted with them and must confirm it by its own signature. Student must immediately inform an assistant about all accidents occurring at the Department of Pathophysiology and Laboratory Diagnostics during the classes. 12. Student is obliged to participate in all lectures and classes. Absence should be excused as soon as possible. It is demanded in the case of health reasons a medical certificate of temporary disability and in other cases a certificate of proper authorities. 13. Basing of the obligatory textbooks Student should be theoretically prepared to the current classes. During every class Student’s knowledge is evaluated. 14. During a consultation hour Student has right to the didactic assistance and information, possessed by the Department, serving to expanding of the pathophysiology knowledge. A term of consultation hour will be established in the course of the academic year. 15. Student has right to express all comments dealing with the pathophysiology course to the assistant responsible for the credit or to the Head of the Department of General and Experimental Pathology. 16. The term of the Final Exam will be agreed with the students in the beginning of the academic year but the term of the First Attempt must take place in June 2013 and term of Retake in September 2013. 17. The final exam is scheduled to the summer examination session and consists of 60 questions (multiple choice and/or true/false and/or fill-in questions; 1 point for each correct answer). 18. Student will be graded as follows: 5 – very good 4.5 (4+) – more than good 4 – good 3.5 (3+) – fairly good 3 – satisfactory (sufficient) 2 – unsatisfactory (failed). 19. Student has right to the inspection of the examination work within seven days after announcing of the results. 20. The examination works are stored in the archive of the Department of Pathophysiology and Laboratory Diagnostics in the period of five years and next they are damaged. 21. Retake of the exam takes place in the term (in SEPTEMBER) appointed by the Head of the Department of Pathophysiology and Laboratory Diagnostics and has a form of the writing exam. 22. During final exam Student may not consult any written materials or electronic devices. Moreover, Student may not have verbal or non-verbal contact with any person other than teaching assistant. Any violations of these rules will be regarded as cheating and will result in failing of the quiz/exam. 23.
