UltraHD 4K Matrix switchers include the 1U MX-0808-4K 8x8 HDMI to HDMI, that brings the convenience and
reliability of short range HDMI 1.4 switching and control to 4K, including audio matrix routing source or ARC
audio to assignable S/PDIF optical or coaxial outputs and advanced audio processing, extraction and ARC
functionality.
For greater transmission distances over HDBaseT Class A technology, the 2U MX-0808-PP-POH-4K features 5play support for video, audio, two-way IR control and RS232, Ethernet and Power up to 70m/230ft UHD @ 30Hz
or 100m/328ft 1080p HD@ 60hz with 48bit Deep Color.
Both models support full 3840 (UHD) and 4096 (DCI) 2160p resolutions up to 30Hz, with the MX-0808-PP-POH4K offering a chroma subsampling rate of 4:2:2 and MX-0808-4K featuring the full 4K color palette of 4:4:4 for
the optimum achievable in terms of resolution and bandwidth within the current HDMI standard.
Addressing the uncertainty surrounding compatibility with HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0, rather than offering a ‘band
aid solution’ using currently compatible chipsets that may not be supported by the time sources and content
finally become available, the modular architecture of the WyreStorm MX-0808-PP-POH-4K switcher offers an
HDCP 2.2 transmission module upgrade for free when technology standards are confirmed for early installers of
the model, after which all models will ship 2.2 compatible as standard to ensure future matrix compatibility with

UHD 4K / HD SPLITTING and EXTENDING
Kicking off with a 4K update to our existing HDBaseT-powered SW-0201-POH two-input HDMI and VGA to single
HDMI output switcher-come-extender that has been so popular with boardroom applications.
The SW-0201-4K retains many of the previous model’s features, including 2:1 switching between VGA and HDMI
with automatic input detection, and the same robust HDBaseT technology for reliable distribution of lossless
video and audio up to 100m/328ft, 3D support and PoH between transmission and receiving units to remove
additional power supply requirements at display point, but adds full support of 3840 (UHD) and 4096 (DCI)
2160p resolutions making it primed and ready for 4K.

Slim is definitely in this season with the new SP-0108-4K low profile 4K HDMI splitter measuring just 18mm high,
feeding a single UHD or 1080p HDMI source to eight UHD or 1080p HDMI outputs supporting 3840 (UHD) and
4096 (DCI) 2160p resolutions up to 30Hz resolutions, again with full 4K color palette of 4:4:4 and including EDID
management.

solution offering HDBaseT 2.0 transmission supporting 2-way PoH and 100m/328ft 3840 (UHD) and 4096 (DCI)
2160p @ 30Hz with 2-way S/PDIF, USB and KVM connectability.
UHD 4K / HD SCALING AND AUDIO DOWNMIXING
It may sound obvious but not every client will ditch existing HD screens overnight now something better (and
considerably more expensive) has arrived, and as such the importance of supporting a combination of UHD 4K
and 1080p HD displays within the same distribution is significant – or else return to the dark days of 720p Vs
1080p, whereby distribution was only as good (and stable) as the lowest resolution screen in it.
The solution is an in-line WyreStorm EXP-CON-4K-DD scaler between receiver and display that automatically
scales up 1080p content to UHD 4K at 30Hz on any 4K screens and scales back 4K transmissions to 1080p 24fps if
that's all the display is capable of. Furthermore, the addition of Dolby downmix to stereo PCM functionality in
the EXP-CON-4K-DD means multichannel audio up to 5.1 can be distributed to zones that support and
automatically scaled down to compatible stereo PCM audio without sacrificing the integrity of the transmission.

Effectively, the combination of a system comprising of an WyreStorm UHD 4K matrix switcher or splitter with
EXP-CON-4K-DD scaler at display zones not only nullifies the threat of resolution disparity between displays
around the site that can drag down a whole distribution, but also ensures that the project can grow with the
client’s needs, or indeed, with the whole industry.
UHD 4K / HD SIGNAL TESTING AND ANALYSIS
InfoComm 2015 also sees WyreStorm showcase the TT-KIT-4K, their powerful new signal test equipment
supporting all resolutions up to full UHD 4K at an even more competitive price point.
Comprising of a UHD 4K HDMI Timing Signal Generator and a UHD 4K HDMI Source Signal Analyzer, the
generator uses advanced internal software and a 1” display to set timing, including virtually any resolution
imaginable, refresh rates or scan types and sync polarity as well as pattern type used to test color, gradient,
detail, motion and 3D. Signal types, color space and depth can also be set and audio types up to 8.1 can also be
tested using 3.5mm jack input, with audio capable of being embedded over the image. Finally, the powerful
feature set is rounded off with an EDID setting to read, store and recall EDID codes to ensure total compatibility
between connected devices in the installation.
Similarly, the UHD 4K HDMI Source Signal Analyzer is able to test timing at the display location by displaying data
of incoming signals to ensure it matches what is being transmitted, with video displayed on the crystal clear 2”
OLED screen.
In terms of EDID, the signal generator can mimic any TV, screen, or projector by storing its EDID for the
integrator to recall anywhere to test an installation without needing to have any screens on site. In addition, the
signal generator features a ‘monitor’ function that can be used to test a signal over a defined period of time,
enabling the installer to leave the device for a period of time, such as all day/night to analyze every single
minute/hour of use for an invaluable time and cost saving method of testing or troubleshooting systems.
The TT-KIT-4K offers complete examination and diagnosis of transmissions from any source to all displays to
ensure greatly improved interrogation of project distribution between devices for even greater signal accuracy
and compatibility and even more efficient installations – a must have for all professional integrators.
