A series of tutorials will be held on Monday 15 June, prior to the start of the opening forum.

TECHNICAL SESSIONS :
MAIN, POSTER AND RIF SESSIONS (16-18 JUNE)
About 800 reports have been selected for presentation and discussion during the technical
sessions (main, poster and RIF sessions). The list of these papers is available on

Three full days have been allocated to the technical sessions.
The conference will be structured according to 6 themes:

MAIN SESSIONS: Led by experts Chairmen and Rapporteurs, the main sessions comprise
12-minute presentations by a limited number of selected authors. This selection will cover
the very latest challenges and issues facing electricity distribution today and in the future.
POSTER SESSIONS: Each author of an accepted paper will be given the possibility to
display his/her work during the interactive poster guided tour of the relevant session. These
structured and successful poster sessions are a unique opportunity for an in-depth discussion
with presenting authors.
ROUND TABLES: Round table sessions will focus on particularly topical subjects, giving
delegates the opportunity to listen to experts and participate in discussions.
RIF SESSIONS: Research and Innovation Forums (RIF) will allow researchers to confront
with high experienced distribution engineers. These will be the places where interesting
research papers will be presented and deeply discussed.

TECHNICAL VISITS (FRIDAY 19 JUNE)
Technical visits will be organised on Friday 19 June.
They will be guided by appropriate specialists.
1 Alstom Medium Voltage laboratories and the Supergrid Institute in Villeurbanne (near Lyon)
Visit includes Smart Grid and Digital Substation developments followed by an opportunity to
discover high voltage test laboratories and production lines. Alstom’s location is situated at
only 9 km.

Visit to the Bourg en Bresse cable production unit

3 Schneider Electric - Research Centre (Grenoble)
The technical visit includes two parts:
Volta Labs based in the Grenoble area
Electropole, Schneider Electric’s Research & Development located in Eybens,
near Grenoble

4 ERDF - Lyon Confluence smart district tour (including the visit of a primary substation)
and the Linky Hypervision Centre.
The technical visit includes two parts:

5 Mersen Electrical Power Facility - Saint Bonnet de Mure

A major and up-to-date international industry exhibition is associated with the 23rd CIRED
Conference. This exciting exhibition will provide companies with an outstanding place to

Welcome reception
A reception will follow the opening forum on 15 June from 18:00 hrs, it will take place in
the exhibition hall.
Gala Dinner
The CIRED 2015 gala dinner will be held in the prestigious Salons of the City Hall on
Wednesday 17 June 2015 from 19:30 hrs. The City Hall is located in the city centre, no
transportation will be provided.
With thanks to the sponsorship from ERDF, we can offer participants wishing to attend this
outstanding event a reduced fee of 60€ per person.
