Mexico Healthcare Expense
US retired community Healthcare expense
•By providing medical services to the US retired community in Mexico (US$6.1 bn) we could
potentially generate almost 10% more healthcare expenditure
•USA could potentially reduce its expense by US$18 bn (US$6,750 x 2.7m retirees)

The unfulfilled need
Certified Hospitals by the:
Joint Commission International
US and Canadians retired communities
Potential cities to establish US and
Can retires communities
•Mexico has 1.1 hospital beds per 1,000 pop (121k beds) vs. 3.1 in USA (933k beds)
•Qualified hospitals and doctors are located in large cities, while foreign retired communities are
located in the coast and small colonial cities
•Even if doctors want to migrate to these communities, their services will be limited without
infrastructure
•To service 5 million US retirees in Mexico with an offer of 2.1 beds per 1,000 pop, we need 10,500
more beds by year 2025.
•To build an infrastructure of 10,500 beds, Mexico needs an investment of around US$3bn – US$4bn

What we need to do
1. Negotiate agreements between Mexico-USA-Canada governments, so American
and Canadian patients can be treated in Mexico. (An experimental program)
2. The Mexican government needs to ensure the personal and medical security of
tourists and expats.
3. Align political agents and development banks to create a strategic program that
promotes and removes obstacles to develop the necessary infrastructure for the
retired communities.
4. Promote joint efforts between government and private investment to develop medical
facilities that can fulfill the underserved demand.
Fulfilling the need
1. SISI Médica is created to develop world class healthcare facilities in high profile
tourists and second home destinations in Mexico to fill the supply gap that exists in
those places.
2. SISI Médica will partner with a strategic and recognized healthcare provider to be
able to offer high specialty services at reasonable prices.
3. The first opportunity for SISI Médica is in Los Cabos, BCS where by 2011 we will
cover four target markets:
• The growing local population
• US and Canadian communities
• Tourists that require medical attention
• The thriving medical tourism industry
