Technical Exception, Clarification or Question
The rating 20/25/28 MVA is calculated improperly. In order to
provide the ONAF rating, 25MVA, a nonstandard capacity of 25%
Attachment (typically 33% for this rating) is required. The 28MVA rating would
13-Oct-2014 B, SECTION be another 12% above the 25MVA which is consistent with a 55/65
337313
degree C rise. Your specification indicates a 65 degree C rise and
two stages of fans. Please reconsider the specified capacity and
issue an addendum as necessary.

As you may guess, [without an answer to question 1], we are
unable to process this design, compressing the time needed to
provide a comprehensive quotation. Unless an addendum is
received today, please grant an extension allowing submittal on or
before Friday, November 7th.
Question

Question
The drawing that is provided in the spec places the LV bushings on
ANSI segment 4 and the HV bushings on segment 2. The problem
Attachment is there isn't enough space on segment 2 to locate 4 HV bushings
24-Oct-2014 B, 481923- and maintain proper clearances. Typically we would see the LV
SK1
bushings mounted on the front wall or segment 1 and the HV
bushings on the cover on the opposite side, segment 3. Is that
arrangement acceptable?

TOB
Supplier shall provide a Bid for transformers specified in SECTION
337313 with rating of 16.8/22.4/28 MVA. Please see the revisions 15-Oct-2014
to the Contract documents as identified in Addendum 1.
TOB
Extension to Friday, November 7th will not be granted.
TOB
The drawing 481923-SK1 is shown with IEEE segment 1 rotated
counterclockwise 45 degrees from the orientation in Figure 1 of
IEEE C57.12.10. For the generator step-up transformer specified
in SECTION 481923, the LV bushings shall be mounted in
segment 1 on the side (front wall) of the transformer as specified 29-Oct-2014
and as shown on 481923-SK1. The HV bushings shall be mounted
on the cover in segment 3 as you have stated, as is shown in
Figures 1 and 3 of IEEE C57.12.10, and as shown on 481923SK1.
