Y4Y also presents a rich collection of resource materials and a variety of opportunities to connect with education experts and practitioners. Assessment of Program Practices Tool APT is designed to help programs and strengthen quality practices using two comprehensive tools that combine observation and self-assessment. Quality advisors, afterschool directors, supervisors, curriculum and education coordinators, and 21st CCLC personnel who are interested in utilizing the A Program Assessment System are encouraged to attend this training to understand APT tools and how they are used for continual program improvement. During these clubs, parents learn the importance of reading to their children, the skills needed to make read-aloud sessions enjoyable, and the importance of promoting literacy in the home. The goal is to achieve social, behavioral, and learning success.
