Dear Parents/Carers
You will be aware that the summer exams are drawing very near and that your child should have
started to revise for these. A good programme of revision at home can add one or two grades to a
student’s results and so this is very important.
At parents’ evening, several of you asked about which revision guides would be useful to buy. I have
therefore collated a list of suggested guides for each subject. In some cases we as a college can
purchase these for your convenience. This can sometimes also mean a discounted rate. The list
below should provide you with a useful guide.
If you wish to purchase any of the guides that are shown to be available through the college, please
complete the tear off slip at the bottom and return it to the college, along with the payment your
selected guide/s. For subjects with smaller numbers, we cannot order these guides until we know how
many students wish to purchase them so please return your slip to Mr Smillie by the end of the college
day on Friday 12 February.
Please note that your child will not study all of these subjects.
Of course, teachers will be issuing a lot of revision materials too and it is by no means mandatory to
buy any of the above. We will be publishing a programme of lunchtime and afterschool revision
sessions soon but the importance of a quiet space in which to work and an insistence on time at home
spent revising is equally important. Your support in ensuring your child is following a good revision
programme is very much appreciated.
