Background
Solution
Since 2006 when production started,
Kia Motors Slovakia has been generating
500,000 documents in average on a daily
basis; the documents mainly relates to ensuring production, operation and specification of working procedures. With regard
to IT department in practice, this means to
process, store and archive up to 150 GB of
data on a monthly basis.
The core of solution is Hitachi Universal
Storage Platform V (USP V). Currently installed capacity of 40TB is scalable in an
unlimited way indeed if necessary.
Storages within corporate data centre are
also used by the ERP SAP system which
ensures operation of the overall production and the key processes such as purchase, production, distribution and least but
not last, sales of products.

facts, it is a critical system where a fewminute failure would cause fatal consequences with negative impact on revenues.
Therefore, expectations and requirements
of the customer corresponded to the system importance. The main criteria included accountability, availability, scalability
and 24x7 on-site support.
Since storage solution is one of the key
systems for IT support of key processes,
the customer also required trouble-free
migration from the original platform.
Data centre availability is ensured by the
fourth generation of switch architecture
which allows trouble-free scalability, provides a large band width and guarantees
low latency.
The implementation stage ensured safe
data migration from the original platform.

requirements to minimize downtime and
ensure data integrity were fulfilled to the
full and entire satisfaction of our demanding customer. The high level of solution and quality of
