Auction Rules
1.
Tacoma Opera has endeavored to catalog and describe all items
correctly. All merchandise is sold as-is and as represented in the
catalog. We neither warrant nor represent, and shall in no event be
responsible for the correctness of description, authenticity, authorship,
provenance or condition of the merchandise. No statement contained
in the catalog or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed
to be such warranty, representation, or assumption ofliability.
2.
Reservations for all trips must be mutually agreed upon with the donor
unless otherwise specified. Hotel, airfare, and lodging for packages are
not included unless specified and may have restrictions. No refunds
will be allowed on travel packages if buyer should have to cancel or miss
an expiration date. Most travel requires at least 60 days advance notice.
3.
The amount of your tax deductible contribution is the amount you paid
for an item minus the value of the goods or services you have received.
4.
All Sales Are Final! There will be no exchanges or refunds.
5.
For Express Check Out, register at the beginning of the evening. If you
have not given us your credit card number at the beginning of the
evening, you must pay for all purchases at the end of the evening.
6.
You may pay a Cashier using cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, American
Express or Discover. Payment in full is required. You will be provided a
receipt for redeeming purchases.
7.
Purchases MUST be removed from the building at the
conclusion of the auction. Special arrangements can be made for
retrieving very large items by 11:00 a.m. Sunday. Payment is required
to remove any item from the building.

8.
Reservations for parties, boat rides, trips, and services must be arranged between donors and buyers.
9.
Each individual and/or couple will be issued a bid number. Write that bid number when bidding on Silent
Auction items and hold the bid card up to bid on Live Auction items. Show your bid number when picking
up items at the end of the evening.
10.
Silent Auction Table Bid Resolution: If at the time of a Silent Auction Table closing there is a disagreement
between competing bidders with regard to who outbid whom at the last moment, a designated Official of
the Auction Committee will be available to conduct a “bid-off” in which each of those final bidders will be
given a chance to bid directly against each other in the presence of the Official. The decision of the Official
shall be final as to the identity of the winning bidder. The “bid-off” will be conducted immediately
following the close of any Silent Auction Table at which there is any such disagreement. In the event such
bid resolution is needed, please notify the Table Closer and that person will arrange for the “bid-off.”
AFTER THE AUCTION PROCEDURES FOR CHECKING OUT
Express pay guests may proceed directly to the merchandise area and pick up their items. All other guests
(who have not express paid) please show your bid card to the check-out cashier who will provide an invoice
for the items for which you are the successful bidder. You will receive a paid invoice once you have provided a
credit card or check to cover your purchase(s).
Proceed to the Silent Auction Tables to pick up your won items with your receipt in hand.

There's always room for dessert! To start the bidding, we have an array of mouthwatering desserts. Buy one of these amazing creations to share at the table or take one home
to enjoy later! You only live once!
2. Say Cheese! Cheese Making Class for Six
Learn to make cheese from the best! Dr. Robert Ettlinger is a certified Cheese maker
who will lead a group of cheese lovers in the joys of cheese vocabulary, history, tasting, and
making of cheese. The group will first gather over wines and a selection of cheeses and
appetizers, then retire to the cheese house for a tasting of some of the host's own delicious
cheeses. The hands-on experience of making fresh cheese is started while a short lecture on
the basics of cheese making is presented. Then a batch of mozzarella should be ready to be
stretched and personalized by each participant to be sampled and taken home (if not already
devoured while warm), along with the recipe to attempt your own batch at home. This is perfect
for anyone looking for a new hobby or curious about cheese!

Tacoma Opera’s Emerging Artists are the core of our
company. These extremely talented young singers are
embarking on their careers. Tacoma Opera provides an
opportunity for these young artist to showcase their talents and
hone their stagecraft skills as they set the foundation for their
journey into the extremely competitive world of Opera. For
tonight’s Capriccio, we are highlighting four soloists from our
2016-17 Season. Two are making their debuts with Tacoma
Opera, one is a former Tacoma Opera Apprentice Artist, and one
is excited to be making her professional debut with us. All four
are delightful and talented singers who have a bright future.
Tacoma Opera is proud to be their launch pad, but we can’t give
them this opportunity without your help. We ask you for your
support of these fine young artists and all the other talented artists
