Robust Fiber and Connectivity Infrastructure
COPT DC-6 is supported by robust fiber connectivity from AboveNet, Level 3 Communications, FiberLight, Verizon, NOVEC
and Comcast. Many providers are located nearby and service from these providers is easily obtained. The U.S. Government
secure connectivity is in the nearby area and direct connectivity is feasible through approved requirements.
COPT D C - 6 ’s l o c a t i o n i n c l u d e s direct connectivity from multiple
carrie r s t o m a j o r n e t w o r k a c c e ss points located in Ashbur n, V irginia.
Fiber providers have access to the site from two distinct underground locations and fiber entering the facility is directed into
two diverse communications Meet-Me-Rooms (MMR). Connectivity is distributed to two additional Meet-Me-Rooms, providing
a total of four MMRs. This provides one MMR for every 25,000 square feet of raised floor area, providing multiple pathways and
redundant connectivity to every space within the data center.

Design Benefits and Specifications
Federal Compliance:
·· COPT DC-6 meets stringent Federal security standards that include: a minimum 150 secured vehicle standoff, vehicle arrest
barriers, K-12 fencing, guarded entrances, man traps, biometric access controls and multiple video surveillance zones.
·· The facility hosts SAS 70 II and SSAE 16 certified installations and can support a FISMA (High) level of network
certification.
·· COPT DC-6 is one of the 10 sites selected to host the GSA Cloud.
Operating Efficiency:
·· COPT DC-6 uses 70% less essential power than traditional designs in the Northern Virginia market.
Scalable High Density:
·· The COPT DC-6 design allows users to increase critical power and cooling for higher rack densities with minimal
disruption or loss of raised floor area, with either air or close coupled cooling.
·· The building was designed to handle up to 300 watts per square foot using air, and densities well beyond that using
water to the rack.
·· The chilled water plant utilizes water-side economization while the building allows for air-side economization.
Reliability:
·· COPT DC-6 is designed to a N+1 minimum level of reliability and would be classified as a Tier III+ when measured
against the Uptime Institute’s reliability criteria.
·· 2N UPS topography can be added to bring this system to Tier IV level of reliability.
·· COPT DC-6 is managed by COPT staff and COPT is fully responsible for insuring that the facility and campus meet
an exacting array of SLA metrics that track all operations 24/7, from the closed circuit cameras prowling the perimeter
down to a single circuit monitoring device, all of which are monitored from a dedicated 24/7 Network Operation Center
located within the facility.
Green Design:
·· COPT DC-6 is a LEED NC Gold facility.
·· Our mechanical plant uses both air and water side economization.
·· The roof ballast is comprised of reflective white stone.
·· Automated illumination fixtures and surfaces throughout.
Location:
Innovation Park
·· COPT DC-6 is in Prince William County’s Innovation Park campus,
a 1,000 acre master planned business park designated as a high
technology incubator and managed by the Prince William County
Economic Development Authority (www.pwcecondev.org).
Distance from Washington, D.C.
·· Innovation Park is located 30 miles west of Washington, D.C., within
an easy 45 minute reverse commute from downtown Washington, D.C.
·· The site is accessible via Route 234 either from I-95 to the south or
I-66 to the north. The Manassas VRE rail station is 1.5 miles to the
south and Dulles International Airport is 15 miles to the north.

Utilities:
Water
·· Water is provisioned from dual ground water wells, which are capable of sustaining the facility’s mechanical plant requirements
during the hottest days of the Virginia summer. As a result, our operating expenses do not include a monthly fee for water.
Electric
·· NOVEC committed to providing 50 MW power via a dedicated 34.5 KV connection. In addition to insulating COPT DC-6
from variations in power quality resulting from a shared distribution loop, NOVEC oversized the concrete conduits serving
COPT DC-6’s site to accommodate another 50 MW of expansion capacity.
