BTX has been involved in selling fiber products for over 25 years. With
the continued reduction in cost differential between fiber and copper
products, the increased ease of fiber termination and the inherent
advantages of fiber, the dynamic growth of fiber in Broadcast and
A/V has just begun.
With this in mind, we’ve invested heavily in our new, dedicated fiber
lab based in our metro-NY corporate headquarters. The lab features
highly trained technicians and the industry’s most advanced termination
and test equipment. We offer custom Neutrik opticalCON® assemblies,
tactical fiber cables, distribution cables and much more. We’ve also
combined our fiber knowledge with our in-house metalworking
capabilities to create a wide variety of fiber breakout boxes and panels.

ll returns must have an RMA (Return Materials Authorization) number assigned by a member
of the BTX customer service or sales departments. This number must be clearly marked on the
outside of the box or the box will be refused.
„„ S hip all returns, with original packaging and all product components pre-paid to BTX at
5 Skyline Drive, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
„„ A
ll returned products with a valid RMA number will be evaluated. The issuance of an RMA
number does not guarantee credit. If BTX deems that a product is defective and still within the
warranty period, we will do one of the following at our discretion: repair or replace the product,
issue a refund, or credit your account.
„„ P roducts accepted for return for reasons other than defect or error by BTX will be assessed a 15%
re-stocking fee and must be received within 30 days from date of shipment. If a manufacturer’s
restocking charge is greater than 15%, BTX will charge the manufacturer’s restocking fee.

„„ Custom or special order products are only returnable due to manufacturing defects or error by BTX.
Warranty:
BTX guarantees products and equipment of its manufacture against all defects in material and/or workmanship and agrees to remedy any such defect at no charge provided the defective product is returned
(transportation pre-paid) to BTX. This warranty extends for 5 years from date of purchase, and does not
extend to products which have been subjected to neglect, accident, or improper use. Warranties on any
distributed product sold by BTX are subject solely to the manufacturers’ written warranty. There are no
other expressed or implied warranties except as set forth herein. BTX is not respondsible for consequential
damages, incidental damages, or incidental expenses, including injury to persons or property.
Blanket Orders:
You can rely on BTX to manage your regular shipments. Blanket orders must be received in written form
with scheduled release dates. The period of a blanket order is for a maximum of 12 months. Blanket
orders for standard product may be altered for release quantities or dates with written approval from
BTX. If release dates are accelerated, BTX will make every reasonable effort to accommodate the new
requirements but shall not be held responsible to meet these new dates. Blanket orders for custom
products are non-cancelable and non-returnable. If you require BTX to keep a given amount of bonded
inventory for your use, this inventory must be paid for when inventory is segregated for your exclusive
use. If at the end of 12 months you have not taken all product from the blanket, BTX reserves the right
to ship the remaining product and bill you accordingly.

Breakout-style fiber optic cable is an optical fiber cable containing several jacketed simplex optical
fibers. Each individual fiber typically has its own Aramid or Kevlar strength member. This is then all cabled
together under a single jacket with a central strength member/filler. Breakout cables can typically be
connected directly to panels due to the protection provided by the individual jackets.

SMPTE Hybrid Fiber Optic Camera Assemblies
2013: Fiber optic solutions
These HDTV camera assemblies are both SMPTE 311M and SMPTE 304M
compliant. Manufactured with Mohawk, Belden or equivalent 311M
cable, these hybrid assemblies contain two tight buffered, single-mode
optical fibers, four 20 AWG stranded and two 24 AWG stranded
tinned copper conductors. The LEMO® 3k series connectors feature low
insertion and return loss specs, a quick disconnect push-pull latching
system, a solid stainless steel outer shell with a protective rubber
boot and end cap to withstand rugged and harsh environments.

SENKO SC and ST Fiber Connectors and Adapters
All of the SENKO SC and ST connectors are available in single-mode and multi-mode versions,
and come with a zirconia ceramic ferrule with pre-polished PC profile and convex spherical end.

The SENKO LC family of single-mode and multi-mode small form factor (SFF) connectors are
ideal for high density applications. The LC connectors have a zirconia ceramic ferrule measuring
1.25mm O.D. and provide optimum insertion and return loss. The Standard LC connector gives
the maximum value for cost and meets IEC, and the general requirement of GR-326. The
Premium LC unibody connector molded with a single body delivers maximum strength against
mechanical tests, including side loading and TWAL tests. The Premium LC also and meets and

2013: Fiber optic solutions
AFL FAST™ Connectors are factory pre-polished, field installable connectors that completely eliminate the need
for hand polishing in the field. It features a proven mechanical splice technology that insures a precision fiber
alignment. Each connector comes with a factory pre-cleaved fiber stub with a proprietary index-matching gel that
combine to offer an immediate low loss termination to either single-mode or multi-mode optical fibers. FAST™
Connectors are compatible with 250µm and 900µm optical fibers, as well as 900µm, 2mm, and 3mm cordage. All
primary fiber types are supported, and each connector is color coded per industry standard requirements to aide in
identification during and after installation. A factory-installed wedge clip (included with each connector) is removed
and discarded upon completion of the termination. Incorporated into this device is an innovative, translucent wedge enabling the use of a common
Visual Fault Indicator (VFI) to provide a “pass/fail” signal once physical contact is achieved.

AFL FAST Connector Tool Kit
The FAST™ Connector Tool Kit provides all the necessary installation tools required for
fiber preparation of 250μm or 900μm fibers applied to AFL’s new pre-polished FAST™
connectors. The kit includes the new universal multi-mode/single-mode cleaver
(CT-30A), AFL’s premier cleaver, with a 16 position blade and built-in fiber scrap collector.
It also includes a fiber strip/cleave template, fiber stripper, kevlar
scissors, fiber prep fluid, lint free cloth wipes, an assembly video
and carrying case.

AFL FuseConnect™ SPLICE-ON Connectors
AFL FuseConnect™ connectors are SC, FC, LC or ST fusion-spliced, field-terminated connectors that are uniquely designed
and feature just four components. With a factory pre-polished ferrule, its innovative field termination process eliminates
polishing, adhesives, and crimping in the field minimizing the potential for operator error and expensive connector scrap.
FuseConnect™ utilizes a fusion splicer (shown on page 11) to terminate the connector in the field, addressing return loss
concerns present in analog optical networks. This advanced process yields true APC performance of >65dB return loss in
an SC/APC configuration and SC single-mode is compliant to GR-326-CORE. Designed to work with an industry standard
10mm cleave length and splicers utilizing a fiber holder system, FuseConnect™ is compatible with Fujikura fusion splicers
and most other fiber holder-based fusion splicing platforms. FuseConnect™ 900µm connectors do not require the
optional FuseConnect Installation Kit. They only require the 900µm FuseConnect™ fiber holder for installation.

AFL Cleaver
The CT-30A Cleaver sets the standard for portability, reliability and ease of use. Used for single fiber
applications, this cleaver can be used with all AFL fusion splicers. The CT-30A offers a larger base for
a stable platform, excellent visibility when placing the fiber, and three scrap collection options. Designed
for excellent portability, the CT-30A is equally at home in a splicing van or in a bucket truck. The 16-position
blade yields 48,000 single-fiber cleaves before requiring replacement, and the built-in scrap collector

TE Connectivity’s TrueNet® 12-Fiber Plug-and-Play Array Cables provide a convenient
and efficient method to connect active equipment into the network. These 12-fiber
round 3 mm cables contain a preterminated high density MPO pinned connector
on one end and either LC or SC connectors on the other. The TrueNet 12-Fiber
Plug-and-Play Array Cable assemblies can simply be plugged into any plug-and-play
cassette listed above which eliminates the need for on-site fiber termination
