SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONS

Provide 3-phase, or 1-phase, 60 hertz dry-type with voltage ratings, kilovolt-ampere
capacities, and connections as indicated on the Drawings:
Transformers shall provide full capacity at the project elevation and
environmental conditions as specified in Section 16050 after all derating
factors have been applied.
Suitable for continuous operation at full rating with normal life expectancy as
defined in ANSI C57.96.

Applied voltage test to each winding and from each winding to the core:
600-volt class winding 4.5 kilovolt.
lnduced voltage test at 2 times normal voltage and 400 hertz for 1,080 cycles.
Voltage ratio and polarity.
Sound level, performed in a test room with ambient sound level not exceeding
24 db.
Perform all tests in accordance with UL-1561.

General:
Floor, wall, platform, motor control center, packaged power supply, or roof
mounted, as indicated on the Drawings.
Locate where not in direct contact with building structure.
lnstall on double-deflection mounts selected for maximum isolation
manufactured by Korfund or equal.
Make any necessary connections to the enclosure with liquidtight flexible
conduit having neoprene gaskets and insulated ground bushings.
Ground the enclosure:
To an equipment ground conductor in the conduit.
To the facility grounding electrode system.
Floor mounted transformers:
lnstalltransformers on 3-112 inch housekeeping pads.
lnstall transformers with adequate space from walls or other enclosures
for proper ventilation in accordance with the manufactureds
recommendations.
