The generator systems shall be prototype tested, factory built, production tested, site tested, of the latest commercial design and complete with all accessories necessary for installation as specified herein and shall comply with the UL/2200, NFPA/110. The options are currently being considered for this bid. Option #1: The generator sets shall be: 400 KW class; 277/480 VAC; 3 phase; 4 wire, liquid propane fueled. Transfer switches shall be ASCO, 600 amp 277/480 Volt S.E. rated NEMA 1 automatic transfer switches. Option #2: The generator sets shall be: 350KW, 438kVA; 277/480 VAC; 3 phase; 4 wire, diesel fueled, and shall include a pad mounted, cylindrical, double walled diesel fuel tank sized to provide fuel to both generators for 72 hours continuous run time at 100% load, and any day tanks required by the manufacturer for fuel delivery. Transfer switches shall be ASCO, 600 Amp 277/480Volt S.E. rated NEMA 1 automatic transfer switch. Option #3: The generator shall be: 600KW; 277/480 VAC; 3 phase; 4 wire, with dual 450amp/3ph over current protection, diesel fueled, and shall include a pad mounted cylindrical, double walled diesel fuel tank sized to provide fuel to both generators for 72 hours continuous run time at 100% load, and any day tanks required by the manufacturer for fuel delivery. Transfer switches shall be ASCO, 600 Amp 277/480Volt S.E. rated NEMA 1 automatic transfer switch. The generators shall include all equipment for installation to include all parts necessary for start-up and vibration isolators if required for installation. The equipment shall be delivered and set on existing generator pads at the facility. Installation and fuel piping is to be done by facility staff. Site tests, site start-up, site inspection after wiring has been installed, operational training, and 4-hour load bank test are required at the site. If software is necessary for the programming or reprogramming of alarm inputs and outputs or diagnostics, it shall be provided with the generator sets. The equipment supplied shall meet the requirements of the National Electric Code as well as all other applicable codes and regulations. All equipment shall be new and of current production by a U.S. firm regularly engaged in the manufacturing and production of engine-alternator sets and associated controls for a minimum of ten years, so that there is one-source of responsibility for warranty, parts, and service through a local representative with factory-trained service personnel. The only manufacturers that will be considered are: Cummins, Detriot Diesel, Kohler, Baldor, and Caterpillar. The generator set shall be certified by the EPA to conform to the latest emissions standards. All makes and models shall be subject to approval by the Department. 2.1 MAINTENANCE/WARRANTY/REPAIRS/ SERVICE AGREEMENTS The winning bidder shall warranty the equipment against defect for a period not less than two (2) years. The warranty shall begin on the date of initial start-up. The winning bidder shall only utilize a manufacturer that has a franchised, statewide and/or nationwide, service organization with parts and service available twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven days a week. During the warranty period, the winning bidder shall be able to respond to an emergency outage within four (4) hours and shall respond to a non-emergency call within twenty-four (24) hours. In the event that the winning bidder fails to meet either or both of these requirements or an emergency outage repair can not be accomplished within eight hours after arrival at the institution, a temporary replacement unit will be provided until the necessary repairs are made at no cost to the Department.
