Introduction

This guide is written to provide instructions for suppliers of Hino Motor Manufacturing

Truck Plants (Hino) on setting up EDI with VASCOR Ltd (VASCOR), which serves as

Hino’s logistics provider. This guide will assist you in the EDI Certification process with

VASCOR.

VASCOR is headquartered in Georgetown, KY between Lexington, KY and Cincinnati,

OH. We are in the Eastern Time Zone, all of your points of contact at VASCOR are currently stationed here.

Hino operates production plants for trucks in Williamstown, WV (HMMWV),

Woodstock, Ontario, Canada (HMC) and Tokyo, Japan (HML). You will not necessarily deal with all 3 plants. VASCOR sends out 830 forecast and 862 firm orders for these plants.

Full EDI specification documents for 830, 862, 856 and 997 will accompany this EDI

Implementation Guide.

Those documents include:

VASCOR Logistics 830 Spec.doc

VASCOR Logistics 856 Spec.doc

General Procedures

VASCOR is responsible for communicating with Hino.

VASCOR will convert a weekly order from Hino into separate forecast and firm orders based on supplier and destination. These orders will be transmitted weekly in 830 and

862 transaction sets in ANSI X12 4010 standard.

VASCOR will separate Hino orders by supplier. Each supplier can expect to receive one

830 transmission with weekly quantities and at least one 862 transmission per week.

These transmission will be available generally on Thursday or Friday. The Forecast will contain weekly quantities projected out as far as twelve weeks.

Full EDI specs accompany this guide.

VASCOR requires a 997 ACK for each 830 and 862 sent.

EDI Testing and Compliance

1.

Please complete the Communication Setup Form on the last page of the Guide and return as instructed.

2.

Once the Form is received all necessary arrangements should be completed by both parties and testing of the communication channel should be arranged with

OMS Support at Vascor. All communication tests should be completed between the suppliers and Vascor.

3.

Vascor will prepare TEST 830 and 862 data. Please let us stress it will be test data, it should not be loaded into your production system as a live order. When you are ready to receive a test transmission from Vascor, again please notify OMS

SUpport to arrange a transmission. It will be possible to combine steps 2 and 3 and test the communication channel by passing a test 830/862/997, if the supplier is able.

4.

After you have certified the 830/862/997, please prepare a test ASN 856, if applicable. Please notify Vascor via email, when you are sending a test 856. We would prefer to see the 862 test data used when sending back your 856, if possible. Please remember to use VASCORT as the receiver ID for all transmissions during the test phase.

5.

Items to test:

830 Forecast

862 Firm

856 ASN

997 Acknowledgement

6.

After we have successfully completed testing all transaction sets and the communication pipeline, you will be Certified and production EDI will begin.
