Salesforce Marketing Cloud Announcing New Studios and Builders Naming in the Marketing Cloud The 2016-02 release will unveil an updated application naming convention and application navigation for the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. You will now experience consistent naming convention for all of our applications, as well as an improved and logical application grouping. When you log into Marketing Cloud on, or after March 19, 2016, you will now experience the updated application navigation. The navigation updates also showcase our new application naming convention. Over the last few years, Salesforce Marketing Cloud has grown rapidly with acquisitions, and through our own innovations with new products and features. We have become more than the sum of our parts. We felt it was important to give our customers an intuitive structure to navigate through the entire Marketing Cloud. Our bestin-class channel apps for Email, Mobile, Social, Advertising and Web are now called Studios. Our powerful crosschannel platform services are now called Builders. This is more than an update to our navigation—this new model is guiding our product planning, and you will continue to see innovation that expands this framework throughout the course of the year. In our 02 release on March 18, 2016, you may notice that we've moved some applications around in our navigation. But don't worry, your emails, automations, audiences and everything else are still there! Below, you'll find an image explaining how things are moving. WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW? • Email Studio includes our email application and Distributed Sending. Predictive Email has been moved to Personalization Builder. • Mobile Studio includes MobileConnect, MobilePush and GroupConnect. • Social Studio still includes the Social Studio application and Social Pages. • Advertising Studio includes Social.com and Active Audiences. • Web Studio includes CloudPages. Predictive Web has been moved to Personalization Builder. • Marketing Automation is now called Journey Builder. It includes Journey Builder, Journey Maps and Automation Studio. • Data & Analytics is now called Analytics Builder and includes Web & Mobile Analytics, Reports and Discover. • Content is now called Content Builder and includes our Content Builder application. • Audience Builder is a new category that includes Contact Builder and the Audience Builder application. • Personalization Builder is a new category that includes the Predictive Email and Predictive Web applications. Email Studio WHAT IS EMAIL STUDIO? Email Studio is the new name for our email application. It includes all of the features and functionality that you had previously in our industry-leading email application. Email Studio allows you to create, send and track 1-to-1 personalized email messages. In coming releases, we will release a new drag-and-drop UI, built-in automations and native data science to quickly build and send emails to your target audience, from a basic newsletter, to the most complex, triggered campaign. WHAT IS CHANGING IN EMAIL STUDIO? Email Studio includes our current email application, as well as Distributing Sending. Predictive Email will move to the Personalization Builder drop-down menu. Mobile Studio WHAT IS MOBILE STUDIO? Mobile Studio provides a single application to connect to your customers through text messages (MobileConnect), push messages (MobilePush) and group messages (GroupConnect). You can track your results and optimize every campaign, and tie in mobile campaigns alongside your email program to increase email opt-ins and mobile app adoption. You can also create triggered messages based on locations with geofencing technology. WHAT IS CHANGING WITH MOBILE STUDIO? There are no changes regarding where you can find our mobile applications. MobileConnect MobilePush and GroupConnect will all be located under the Mobile Studio drop-down in the global navigation bar. salesforce.com/marketing-cloud Social Studio WHAT IS SOCIAL STUDIO? Social Studio includes Listening, Publishing, Promotion, Engagement and Analytics in a single interface and mobile apps. Command Centers are also offered as part of the product. Social Studio also automatically connects to the Sales Cloud and Service Cloud for service and sales use cases. WHAT IS CHANGING WITH SOCIAL STUDIO? There are no changes to Social Studio in the 02 release. You can still find Social Pages under the Social Studio drop-down navigation. Advertising Studio WHAT IS ADVERTISING STUDIO? Advertising Studio is an end-to-end application for powering your advertising with CRM, managing and optimizing your campaigns at scale across the audience platforms, and securely taking your data via onboarding partners to the digital advertising ecosystem. WHAT IS CHANGING WITH ADVERTISING STUDIO? Active Audiences and Social.com can be accessed through the drop-down tab in the global navigation under Advertising Studio. Web Studio WHAT IS WEB STUDIO? Web Studio allows you to track visitor behavior and preferences in real-time, then turn insights into action through personalized, dynamic Web pages and content for each visitor to increase conversion, click-through rates and order values. You can also use CloudPages in Web Studio to create beautiful landing pages for your campaigns and journeys. WHAT IS CHANGING WITH WEB STUDIO? CloudPages and all of its features can be can be accessed through the drop-down tab in the global navigation under Web Studio. Journey Builder WHAT IS JOURNEY BUILDER? Journey Builder is a marketing automation application that enables to marketers to plan, personalize and optimize every interaction in the customer journey across marketing, sales and service. WHAT IS CHANGING WITH JOURNEY BUILDER? Marketing Automation is now called Journey Builder. The Journey Builder drop-down menu includes Journey Builder, Journey Maps and Automation Studio, and groups all of our marketing automation solutions together. Audience Builder WHAT IS AUDIENCE BUILDER? Given the importance of contacts and audience segments to how marketers drive their business, we are expanding Audience Builder to be a broader category and elevating it to the global navigation. Audience Builder is a singular framework from which to manage and build a common view of every customer. It allows you to integrate with any data source and connect natively to Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and App Cloud. It includes the ability to do multi-dimensional audience segmentation, and use audiences in any campaign across the customer journey. WHAT IS CHANGING WITH AUDIENCE BUILDER? Audience Builder is now part of the global navigation. Contact Builder and the Audience Builder product have moved from Data & Analytics to the Audience Builder category. Other contact building and management functionality, such as Web Collect and Marketing Cloud Connect, are included here as well. salesforce.com/marketing-cloud Content Builder WHAT IS CONTENT BUILDER? Content Builder provides new, best-in-class content management capabilities and many UI components (first to be leveraged with Email) for finding and managing content, creating HTML content and sharing and distributing content. WHAT IS CHANGING WITH CONTENT BUILDER? Content Builder includes the content repository (CMS) and API, the content management application (formerly referred to as Content Canvas) and the new HTML content editor, formerly referred to as Content Builder. Personalization Builder WHAT IS PERSONALIZATION BUILDER? Personalization Builder encompasses all of the tools a marketer needs to craft highly individualized experiences for each customer. Build dynamic content, leverage sophisticated algorithms to infer customer preferences, identify behavioral patterns to deliver intelligent content and offer recommendations, plus make predictive decisions based on a customer's likelihood to complete a goal. WHAT IS CHANGING WITH PERSONALIZATION BUILDER? Personalization Builder now includes Predictive Email and Predictive Web. This is where you can find Affinity Profiles, Algorithms, Predictive Recommendations, Rule Manager, Predictive Scores (BETA), and Predictive Audiences (BETA). Analytics Builder WHAT IS ANALYTICS BUILDER? Analytics Builder empowers marketers to view, understand and correlate customer engagement data across campaigns and channels.
