Partner, Chief Financial & Investment Officer of a Mexican real estate development firm primarily focused on commercial and
mixed-use projects, with an average of US$25M in property development value per year.
2007 - 2014
• Secured a 5-year development pipeline of six commercial and mixed-use projects with an estimated aggregate value of $180M,
by building synergies and relationships with institutional investors, family offices and landowners. Formed two new companies
under the holding´s umbrella, partnering with groups that provided us land for development as “physical equity”.
• Led the legal and financial structuring of the first Public-Private Partnership in Mexico to develop a US$100M, 800,000 sq. ft.
project to house the offices of the Nuevo Leon State Government. Negotiated a JV with Brazilian contractor Andrade Gutierrez
(“AG”) to enter the competitive public bid for the project. Raised 95% debt financing with a syndicate of banks and Credit
Suisse (“CS”) as Lead Arranger. After a near-default by the Government, devised and executed a plan that generated 50%
additional profits by restructuring agreements with CS, AG and the Government to ensure continuity and expansion of the
investment.
• Identify and close deals to build, lease and/or sell five commercial, residential and mixed-use projects with joint value of over
US$200M; raise over US$120M in equity from private investors and debt from Mexican and international banks. Oversee
completion of such projects.
• Create, model and execute business plans to develop two US$30M 350,000 sq. ft. office buildings. Secured and structured
US$45M in financing; negotiated and finalized sales and leasing contracts, achieving equity returns for our investors in excess
of a target IRR of 22%.
• Recruit and develop a diverse team of twelve real estate professionals across the Investments, Management, Commercial and
Legal departments, improving efficacy and reducing dependency on outsourced services, maintaining equal operating expenses.
