• Dual 320 joule MOVs on LONG LIFE, optional on standard
• Electronic circuit provides a capacitive discharge ”thump”to
the relay coil to improve contact opening and reduce “day
burners”. Relay coil gets 36 VDC for several milliseconds at
turn OFF
EYE Lighting proudly introduces its outstanding family of Lighting Control Systems,
standard and LONG LIFE Locking Type Photoelectric Controls. Although, Photocontrols
are not new to the industry, EYE has designed in performance features that make
these the best photocontrols with the longest life available.
• LONG LIFE versions feature heavy duty relay - rated for over
200 amps inrush load current. Meets the most stringent
ANSI C136.10 proposed High Inrush requirements
Circuitry is designed to protect against surges, especially important with today’s
electronic-driven luminaires, with higher-quality components, particularly a sealed
relay with very large silver contacts, FET drive and high-voltage rated capacitors.
Mechanically, our housing is one of the thickest in the industry, helping to fend
against Mother Nature and her creatures. The base is permanently sealed to the
cover, eliminating the chance for moisture intrusion. With a wide variety of sensitivity,
color and electrical options available, the EYE Photocontrol family offers maximum
flexibility to outperform its competitors in virtually every outdoor lighting
application, year after reliable year!
• FET relay coil control. Switching FET is operated at 5% of
rate current and 40% of rated voltage. Most other control
designs operate switching components at 60% of rated
voltage and 95% of rated current
• Base sealed to cover. No steel screws to corrode. No failure
prone snap on design to come loose
• Input capacitor rated 630V versus 400V, which is typical
of controls offered by others. This ensures longer life and
better surge resistance
• Backed by industry professionals experienced
in providing lighting solutions
• Rounded top corner makes EYE Lighting control more

1. Photocontrol: Shall be a Locking
Type and meet or exceed all
requirements of ANSI C136.10 except
as noted below.
2. UL: For standard photocontrols, UL
versions will be available. Non-UL
versions are available in black or
brown or as specified by customer.
3. Line voltage: 105-305 VAC @ 50/60 hz.
4. Load rating: Shall be at least 1800
VA. Control must be able to operate
incandescent, ballast, LED, and
lighting contactor loads. Control shall
be rated for over 200 amps inrush
load current for electronic loads on
LONG LIFE controls.
5. Control relay: Shall be sealed.
6. Turn ON: Shall be 1.5 ±0.3 fc. Turn
OFF shall be 1.5 times the turn ON
level. Other turn ON levels may be
specified by user
7. Photosensor: Sealed silicon sensor.
Cadmium sulphide cells are not
acceptable. Control light sensor shall
be almost blind to the light spectrum
produced by LED sources.

form of two Metal Oxide Varistor
(MOV) wired line to neutral. Each
MOV shall be rated a minimum of
320 joules and 9500 amp surge.
Finished control shall not fail when
subjected to 5 surges of 9500 amps
applied at 1 minute intervals. Surge
wave form as described in ANSI
C136.10-1996 section on High Surge.
• Surge Protection: 160 joule MOV standard. Utility versions
have 320 joule, 9500 amp MOV. Dual 320 joule optional
