The many kind words I received from members after the Conference was very gratifying. Our Conference consultants put together a great program of events and the Buffalo office managed the many details involved in pulling off an event of this size with the competence that our members have long experienced. NAILD has some exciting changes in store for this next year. By the time this publication goes out to the membership, we will have concluded a marketing agreement with Creative Marketing Alliance, Inc. (CMA) to take over a piece of the management of our organization. Starting June 1, CMA will take over Membership recruitment, Conference Planning and Marketing including our publications. CMA graciously agreed to modify the original scope of this agreement along with their fee. This will allow us to keep our current consultant for Conference and Publications through the end of this year ensuring a very smooth transition. Your new Board of Directors has hit the ground running to meet an ambitious set of goals for this next year. Membership has already added a few new Distributor members and will work very closely with CMA to recruit more companies to our organization. Business Development is hard at work to create alliances with lighting related organizations that can bring value to the membership. Education is putting together the Light Lunch program for this next year and finishing up the revisions to LS I and LS II. They are also evaluating a number of organizations to work with on an IMARK type marketing agreement to drive sales of our education programs. We have a great deal of work ahead of us. Change rarely comes without challenges and unanticipated obstacles. The Board of Directors welcomes your ideas and input. Consider making a contribution by serving on one of our committees. In Fort Lauderdale, Paul Hafner challenged us to make this “The year of NAILD”. Together let’s make it happen. Today’s Lighting Distributor SUMMER 2014 Volume 22, No. 2 Managing Editor Cathy Heldt TODAY’S LIGHTING DISTRIBUTOR is published 4 times a year for eligible members of the NAILD.
