7th Annual 2016 Argenta-Oreana Merit Badge Fair Hosted by Troop 31 February 13, 2016 Argenta-Oreana High School 500 N. Main St., Argenta, IL Cost: $15 per Scout - $10 per Adult Registration - 8:00am - 8:30am Event will conclude at 4:00pm Boy Scout Troop 31 is hosting the 7th Annual Argenta-Oreana Merit Badge Fair on February 13th at the Argenta-Oreana High School. Registration will begin at 8:00am and the event will conclude at 4:00pm. There will be full day classes and some half day classes as well. Scouts should prioritize (1-10 at least) the classes on the registration form. Adults must also register and can take part in the Adult Workshops. Lunch will be served to all paid participants in attendance and all paid participants will receive an event patch. Scouts must have the merit badge book (and have read it), a signed blue card from their leader, and all required pre-work in hand the day of the fair. Scouts who do not have completed pre-work will receive a partial. Scouts should also be sure to wear their uniform to the event. Preregistration is required - NO WALK-INS ALLOWED! None Pre-Req. - 7 Traffic Safety Pre-Req. - None Radio ADULT WORKSHOPS (CPR Certification is an all day session, Outdoor Cooking is morning only, the other classes will be offered both morning and afternoon) CPR Certification: ($10 Additional Fee payable on the day of the fair) Limited to 12 participants. Certification will be either Red Cross or American Heart Association. The Merit Badge Process: Participants will receive training from Lincoln Trails Council Advancement Committee on all aspects of the Merit Badge program including how they are earned, how counselors are approved, and much more. Outdoor Cooking: (Limited to 25 participants) Returning after a 1 year break! This course will demonstrate many different methods and recipes for Scout cooking! Demonstrations and hands on training will both be included. Scoutmaster Share: This class will have a moderator and give class members the opportunity to share ideas that have worked for them as a Scoutmaster. Please come with your ideas and experiences. If you are a new Scoutmaster, be prepared to take notes.
