Impact Test
The extruded aluminum clad exterior on Sierra Pacific windows and doors features a finish composed of durable 100%
fluoropolymer powder coating thermoset to meet AAMA 2605 standards to comply with your most stringent project
requirements. See back cover for AAMA test and performance criteria.
No coating removal allowed.

The Advantages of AAMA 2605 Finishes
Corrosion Resistance
Evaluates a coating's resistance to delamination in a high humidity environment.
• Increased humidity resistance
• Better salt spray resistance
• Improved gloss retention
• South Florida test exposure for AAMA 2605 coatings is twice that of AAMA 2604 coatings
• The color retention requirements for 2604 and 2605 finishes are the same, however the period of exposure for 2605 finishes is
twice as long as for 2604 finishes.
Humidity Resistance
The coating is first scribed completely through its cross-section and then
exposed to 100% relative humidity at 100°F for 4000 hours.
4000 Hours
A visual inspection for blisters in the coating determines pass or fail.
Shows a coating's resistance to delamination in a highly corrosive environment.
The coating is first scribed through its cross-section and then exposed to
Salt Spray Resistance
4000 Hours
5% salt fog for 4000 hours. Immediately apply tape over the
scored area and pull sharply off. A visual inspection for scribe creepage
and blistering determines pass or fail.

Weathering Test
Superior Exterior Performance
South Florida exposure is a standardized real-world weathering exposure
test that analyzes color and gloss retention, as well as chalk
and erosion resistance.

• Powder produces much thicker coatings than typical liquid applications
• Our standard 2605 coating meets AAMA 4,000 hour salt spray resistance and humidity testing criteria:
•High resistance to chalking
•High resistance to film coating erosion
•Improved color and gloss retention

• Powder Coated finishes have a higher surface hardness and scratch resistance than common liquid finishes:
•Reduces the chance of damage to the coating during installation
•High resistance to windborne abrasives
•Higher surface hardness and scratch resistance

Adhesion Tests
• Powder coatings emit zero or near-zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Wet paint is a major source of man-made VOCs.
• The powder coating process produces less hazardous waste and eliminates hazardous waste disposal
• Powder is solvent free. Dry powder is applied electrostatically and cured under heat.
• Application of powder does not require use of the solvents necessary in wet paint applications to keep the binder and filler parts
in a liquid suspension form.
• Eliminates the additional energy usage required to operate the thermal oxidizers and scrubbers necessary to lower VOC
emissions generated during application of wet paint.
• Powder is not flammable
