At the April 26, 2016 meeting of the Regional Emergency Medical Services Council of New
York City, the application identified above was reviewed, discussed and voted upon.
The Regional Council approved the following motion, which is being forwarded to the NYS
DOH for consideration:
The Regional Emergency Medical Services Council of New York City, which has conducted a
Public Hearing and has carefully reviewed the information, material and record in this
matter, recommends that the application submitted by NYU Hospitals Center for expansion of
existing ambulance service (NYS DOH #1233) from Kings County (limited to the 68th and 72nd
Police Precincts) to Kings (Brooklyn) and New York (Manhattan) Counties in New York City,
be approved.
A vote was conducted and the results were the following: 15 in Favor; 2 Abstentions and 2
Opposed. The motion carried. Our membership at the time of this vote was 26; quorum 14.
A copy of the Regional EMS Council voting record is attached. Your office previously
received an electronic version of this application. Contact me if you require further
documentation. Pursuant to NYS DOH policy, please advise the Offices of the Regional
Council, in writing, regarding the approval or denial of this application.
