1. Description and area of application

PC ® 80M Mortar is a two component inorganic mortar based on specially formulated glass powder and fillers for component one and modified silica dispersion for component two. When mixed and applied to

FOAMGLAS ® insulation PC ® 80M Mortar forms an inorganic noncombustible bore coating or, coating for forming HT reinforced FOAMGLAS ® insulation shapes.

2. Application*

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

A spiral paint mixing paddle or mud type mixing paddle with an electric or air powered mixer is recommended. A disposable bristle type brush is preferred for bore coating applications. Clean tools and containers with water before adhesive sets. PC ®

80M Mortar may also be spray applied using a slightly reduced viscosity mix-ratio and a Putzmeister Sprayboy P12 or similar spray equipment.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Check substrate surfaces for flatness, adhesive cannot make up for poor surface uniformity. FOAMGLAS ® free of loose dust. Lay out work before mixing adhesive

insulation should be

MATERIAL PREPARATION:

The mix ratio for PC ® 80M Mortar is 100/23 by weight. (powder/liquid). If the PC ® 80M Mortar will be spray-applied, the proper mix ratio is 100/26 by weight (powder/liquid) . Mix the powder and liquid in a container until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Never add Portland cement, water, or other materials to mortar mix. The temperature will affect cure and working time. Mix as close to 25°C (77°F ) as practical. Once adhesive sets, it cannot be recovered. Properly mixed, mortar is creamy and non-sagging up to a wet film thickness of 7 mm (approx. ¼ in.).

BORE COAT APPLICATION:

Check FOAMGLAS ® insulation for fit and clearance to allow for pipe expansion and bore coat. Hot work should be loose fitting.

Apply to bore with brush or other suitable applicator. Cells should not be filled and a continuous coating is not needed . Remove any lumps or excess adhesive from all surfaces before adhesive sets.

CLEAN UP AND DISPOSAL:

PC ® 80M Mortar may be cleaned with water before mortar sets. Set mortar must be mechanically removed.

Set adhesive can be land filled. Powder should be mixed with liquid before discarding to landfill.
