Excelitas Technologies’ the DigiPile™ Module TPiM 1T 1256 L5.5, allows for
greater customization and easy connectivity for non-contact temperature
measurement and a range of industrial and commercial applications. The DigiPile
Module, the newest addition to Excelitas’ digital Family of Thermopile Sensors,
delivers its unique customization capabilities through fully digital signal

processing and calibrated linear temperature output signals. With an I C bus and
a sensor located on the printed circuit board, it offers easy plug-in use. In
addition, it is ideal for applications ranging from white ware (e.g. microwave
ovens) to pyrometry to general process control uses. The DigiPile Module can
engage in dialogue with any outside microprocessor without the need for costly
additional components.
The DigiPile Module consists of a DigiPile sensor and microcontroller with
integrated E2PROM for signal processing and interfacing.
The microcontroller calculates the object (Tobj) and ambient temperature (Tamb)

and is post-processing the temperatures to output them via the I C bus digital
serial interface.
