In the worst case scenario it could invalidate your insurance claims and even put you out of business. As an employer you have a legal responsibility to protect the health and safety of your staff and other people, as defined in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. A system of regular electrical safety testing in line with current legislative guidance notes not only provides evidence that you are managing your risks responsibly, it is often a compulsory element of the terms of your insurance policy. We have a proven track record for delivering a professional, high quality and cost effective testing service for all types of electrical appliance and installations: > Fixed Equipment Testing Comprehensive Electrical Systems Logbook report > > Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) Access to online reports > > Schematic and As Built Drawings Emergency Lighting Testing > > Fixed Wiring Inspection and Test Free Reminder service so you will know when your testing is due > > Thermal Imaging Surveys > Energy Efficiency Reports Portable appliance testing The recommended frequency for portable appliance inspection and testing varies from three monthly upwards and is dependant upon the type of equipment, the environment and the nature of the work activity carried out at your premises. We will assess your testing frequency and provide a free quotation for testing all your equipment, so you have confidence you are demonstrating adequate duty of care for your staff. Once our qualified operatives have tested your electrical appliances, each item is labelled with a unique identification number that is used as a reference within your equipment register. The labels are barcoded and colour coded which enables you to easily identify any appliances that fall outside of their test date. Fixed wiring inspection and test Airtricity Utility Solutions will carry out an inspection and test of your fixed wiring in accordance with the guidelines laid down within the ETCI National Rules for Electrical Installations, Fourth Edition ET101:2008 and other relevant legislative guidance notes. Recommended frequencies for testing generally range from annually to five yearly and are dependant upon the nature of your business, as well as the age and the condition of the installation. After the fixed wiring inspection we will provide you with an independent condition report that identifies deviations from the current regulations. Any danger areas requiring immediate action will be highlighted to you on-site by our fully qualified electricians, who will also issue you with an ‘Urgent Defect Report.’ Our national network of local offices can then assist you in carrying out any remedial works if required. Thermal imaging Thermal imaging surveys can identify components which are breaking down, hot spots in electrical distribution systems and areas where heat is being lost from buildings. Our service is non intrusive and an ideal way of carrying out electrical safety inspections as part of your routine maintenance and condition monitoring requirements. Producing photographic evidence which identifies these defects can also reduce unplanned maintenance charges. Finding a loose connection or potentially overloaded component in your electrical switchgear can also prevent the risk of fire that may not always be detected by a visual inspection. Thermography is now recognised by the IEE Wiring Regulations (Guidance Note 3) as a valued addition to regular inspection and testing. Energy Efficiency Reports Using state of the art equipment, our energy efficiency monitoring service assesses the way electricity is consumed within a specific building or site and gives you a graphical indication of your energy consumption. By monitoring your energy pattern, typically over a 7 day period, our report will identify if energy is being wasted, whether there is poor power factor and any phase current imbalances. An energy efficiency report provides the evidence to enable you to take action to reduce your carbon levels and potentially save money on your energy bills. 01 4673880 customerqueries@airtricitysolutions.com www.airtricitysolutions.com Environment, Safety and Quality Airtricity Portfolio Our approach Safety comes first Our number one core value at Airtricity Utility Solutions is Safety. All our staff are signed onto their Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities, and are given instruction on legislation and best practice procedures appropriate for their work. The Airtricity Utility Solutions code of practice is based upon risk assessment of all tasks to ensure that safe working practices are adopted. On all our projects we utilise the following: > Daily risk assessments > Regular on-site safety audits > Use of full range of personal protective equipment > Hazards and risks controlled at work site > 30 minute incident reporting system ISO accreditations All our lighting services operational offices are fully accredited with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, ensuring a consistent approach to quality and environmental standards throughout the company. Backed by the significant corporate resources of our parent company SSE, we have robust policies and procedures which support the high standards of workmanship you expect from our electricians and engineers. Duty to care for the environment Our duty to care for and protect the environment begins before we start any job. As part of our stringent risk assessment procedures, we identify environmental impacts of our operations and either remove hazards, or put control measures in place to minimise any environmental impact. Waste minimisation is preventing and reducing waste at source through the efficient use of raw materials, energy and water. Our procurement process duly reflects this and we consult with our carefully selected supply chain to benefit from their knowledge and experience. The results are cost savings which are achieved without impacting quality. We recycle all electrical equipment, lamps and metal within and outside the WEEE directive, and continually strive to identify other waste streams that can be recycled to the same exacting standards.
