Cantilever Shelving
1. Cantilever Shelving - General
Cantilever shelving is primarily designed for library applications for storage and display of printed
material, however this versatile shelving can be used for a wide variety of other uses.
Spacesaver Cantilever Shelving is available in:
• Kits, Mobile Ready
• Kits, Static
• Components
a. Cantilever shelving is available in shelving kits or by shelving components.
b. Preconfigured cantilever shelving kits are available in the configurations published and only in
36” wide shelving sections. To order shelving other than the published configurations,
sections must be assembled using the component catalog numbers.
c.
Shelving sections can be mounted on mobile systems or used as static shelving applications.
d. For mobile applications use a standard adjustable shelf at the lowest level and gusseted base
support brackets. For typical static applications use a 3” base shelf and non-gusseted base
support brackets.

All cantilever shelving is adjustable on 1” shelf centers.
g. Frames can be adjusted in height in 1” increments only. Order the higher published frame
height and substitute the frame height needed for the published frame height.
Example: If a 76” high frame height is needed, order a 78” high frame. In the catalog number
substitute a 76 for the 78. A “CWF-7836” would become a “CWF-7636”. A 78”
high frame height would be purchased and a 76” high frame would be provided.
There is not a charge to cut the frame down. When ordering cut down frames, any
accessories associated with the frame height should also be cut down. IE: Metal
End Panels.
h. Shelving sections are available in 24”, 30” and 36” widths. Accessories for the different sizes
are limited. Consult the Commercial price list for accessories available at the different widths.

It is recommended that all double face shelving sections over 66” high be anchored to the
floor or overhead. (Per local codes and/or requirements)
j.
Static shelving sections do not include levelers. Order separately one kit per base support
bracket.
k.
All single face shelving sections should be anchored to an existing facility wall using the wall
attachment bracket. Order one per frame. If an existing facility wall is not available, anchor
shelving sections to the floor.

When calculating the overall depth of cantilever shelving add 2” in for the cantilever frame
depth.

Example: Single face shelf section. A 9” shelf would have an overall depth of 11”. 9” for the shelf and 2”
for the cantilever frame.
Double face shelf section: A 9” shelf would have an overall depth of 20”. 9” shelf times 2 plus
2” for the cantilever frame.

2. Cantilever Shelving – Kits - Mobile Ready
Mobile ready kits are configured to be ordered by one catalog number and be ready for
installation on a mobile carriage or stationary platform.
Mobile ready kits are available in:
• Starters and adders.
• 3 heights, 78”, 84”, 90”.
• 13 depths, Single Face, 9”, 10”, 11”, 12”, 13”, 14”, 17”.
Double Face, 16”, 18”, 20”, 22”, 24”, 26”, 32”.
• 1 width 36”.
• Available in slotted or plain shelves.
• Standard ¾” adjustable shelves are provided at lowest level for mobile applications.
• Divider shelves include (5) dividers per shelf.
• Shelving sections are complete except for canopy tops, which must be ordered separately.
3. Cantilever Shelving – Kits - Static
Static Shelving Kits are configured to be ordered by one catalog number and be ready for
installation as static shelving.
Static shelving kits are available in:
• Starters and adders.
• 3 heights, 78”, 84”, 90”.
• 13 depths, Single Face, 9”, 10”, 11”, 12”, 13”, 14”, 17”.
Double Face, 16”, 18”, 20”, 22”, 24”, 26”, 32”.
• 1 width- 36”.
• Available in slotted or plain shelves.
• Divider shelves include (5) dividers per shelf.
• Shelving sections are complete except for canopy tops and levelers, which must be ordered
separately.
4. Cantilever Shelving - Components
Shelving components can be configured and assembled in any combination available based on
the size and type of shelving components available. Each component must be ordered as an
individual catalog number and in the quantities needed to complete the installation. Consult the
Commercial Price list for all available components.
